"Hey how are you?" I asked walking into Emily's office, "Ready to get the hell out of here" she replied packing up. "Emily we JUST arrived" I answered sitting down. "Yeah but I promised you a drink" she replied and I laughed "In the evening Emily, We have work" I chuckled.

"I brought you breakfast" I offered sitting down opening my bag, "You did?" She asked smiling and I nod giving her the plate. She took a bite and her whole face lit up "Marry me?" She asked and I chuckled nervously. "I'll think about it when Sean's out the picture" I replied jokingly and Emily sat starring at me, the tension now weird.

"No Omg that was a joke" I immediately apologized and Emily laughed, "Relax, I know my mind just wondered off to somewhere" she stated and I nod.

The whole day I barely saw Emily because she was busy, apparently Dennis called in sick so Emily had to fill in.

Ashley and I sat in the lounge area catching up on the week. "Are you busy after work" she asked and I started packing up "Uh yeah I made plans with a friend" I responded looking through the window for any signs of Emily.

"Like a date?" Ashley asked and I chuckled."No, Definitely Not a date" I responded and she nod. "Would you like to have drinks Friday night?" She asked and I thought about it, "Yeah sure" I agreed.

"Hey, you ready to go?" I asked walking up to Emily. "Yes please" she answered tiredly, "You seem like you've had a day" I commented and she sighed chuckling. "It has been, barely saw you" she flirt and I laughed.

"Can't imagine how hard that must of been for you, a whole day without my beauty to grace you" I said going along with it. "Oh baby you have no idea" she whispered.

We made to a bar just thirty-five minutes from our work place. We sat  down and Emily order our drinks. "Who's picking Miles up?" She asked suddenly "Oh my mother is taking him for the week" I replied.

We sat down in silence for a bit until she got to the conversation as to why we are here. "So Uh the fights with Sean and I he's just changing like Sean's usually the golden retriever and I'm the black cat now he's like a Chihuahua" she said and looked at me and we both chuckled.

"Your comparing your husband to dogs" I said and we chuckled even more. "But seriously though I think Sean's cheating on me" she said sadly and I sprung into action holding her hands. "Hey that's a big jump, maybe something is happening with him. I'm sure Sean is many things, but a fool that would cheat on YOU. I can not imagine that." I said rubbing circles on her knuckles.

"Take it easy okay, step by step. You'll figure out what's up with him" I said and she placed her thumb on top of my hand. "I'll help you okay, but as I said I'm sure it's not this big, do you have any reason as to why you'd think he's cheating?" I asked.

"When a man acts different than usual 99% of times he's cheating" she said removing one of her hands from mine to drink her drink. "Well there is a one percent chance he's not" I said and she started into my eyes. "Yeah, yeah I guess so" she replied and I nod.

I slowly let go of her hands and picked my drink up and took a sip. We spent the rest of the evening drink and laughing. "Your turning me into a alcoholic you know that right" I chuckled and she laughed.

A whole hearted laugh, yeah she's chuckled here and there in a while but this time it she laughed.
"My apologies for that" she commented and I looked at her for just for a second. "The whole, You do not want to be friends with me speech you gave is because this would of been the consequences" I joked and we laughed along again.

"Yeah don't be surprised you turn out a alcoholic or drug addicted" she said and then paused "No that was a joke I really don't do drugs" she corrected.

I laughed, "Yeah I wouldn't be surprised if you did, you live in the city" I said and she acted offended "You keep saying that, what do you have against the city" she asked.

"Nothing its just it's most likely to be a drug addicted or alcoholic in the city your exposed to so many substances" I replied. "That is actually not true" she answered back "Yeah sure" I said and we continued joking around.

When it started getting closer to Ten o'clock I decide it was time for me to take Emily home. We got into my car and I drove off. A few minutes into the silent car ride Emily turned to me sleepily. "Thank you for the past month" she said yawning and I glanced at her for a second and smiled "Yeah of course no problem" I replied and with that she closed her eyes.

I slowly shook Emily awake and helped her out the car taking it easy, I stopped at the door and she gave me her house key and I opened it. I brought her over to the couch and went to the kitchen to get her a glass of water and that's when Sean came downstairs. "Emily what the hell, do you not see me calling your phone all day" He started and I intervened.

I shouldn't. I know I shouldn't but she's had a day. "Can you maybe just deal with this tomorrow, she's tired and she has a headache" I said trying to sound as politely as possible, realizing this is none of my business whatsoever, but Emily is my friend. Sort of I think.

Regardless of my intrusion he nodded and walked over to Emily, "Lets get you upstairs to bed." He said and helped her up the stairs. Ready to go home now I started heading for the door when Sean rushed downstairs "Thanks for getting her home" He said "You don't have to thank me" I responded and with that I left.
