The next morning, Kim Rok Soo wears his elementary school uniform as he eats breakfast at the table.
Kim Rok Soo's sharp eyes could see that his uncle's skin looked unusually pale.
He held his left chest as he barely touched the food in front of him.
The food that he longed for after he lived with his uncle.
But, that good didn't look tempting this time. He didn't even have an appetite to eat.
Kim Rok Soo looked up seeing Kim Seung Jong didn't even care that he didn't eat what he cooked as he just looked at his cell phone.
'It's highly unlikely for uncle to have that kind of power.'
Kim Rok Soo grew up with his uncle for a year. If his uncle had such power, why would he be trapped in so much debt?
This person also didn't enjoy drinking alcohol or doing some gambling anymore.
Instead, he worked hard for his cake shop.
He didn't want to ask and make himself feel guilty by knowing things he shouldn't know.
But, he had to ask. Even if it might make his relationship with his uncle even more strained.
"Uncle, last night..."
Kim Rok Soo couldn't ask any further. His brain seemed unable to function to continue the questions he wanted to ask.
However, Kim Seung Jong, even without hearing it in detail, already knew what Kim Rok Soo wanted to talk about.
He was sure Kim Rok Soo would wake up when the glass shattered with super strong winds in his room.
"How far did you hear it?"
Kim Seung Jong has no intention of hiding everything.
Kim Rok Soo has the right to know.
It was better than having to deal with the drama when he was an adult that the person who raised him was someone he wasn't even related to by blood.
"When uncle pinched my cheek."
Kim Rok Soo answered in a low voice.
He's been through a lot of trauma. There was no way a pinch on his cheek wouldn't wake him up.
It was actually quite a miracle that he didn't wake up when he heard his bedroom door opened by someone.
That was because he felt quite safe in his uncle's house since his uncle had changed a little.
Damnit!
Kim Seung Jong swore inside even though his face looked indifferent.
'He must have heard me talking about his curse.'
Kim Seung Jong sighed and put his cell phone on the table.
"So, what do you want to know, kid?"
Kim Seung Jong's face was cold. He wasn't someone who liked talking about annoying things like this. He even coughed up blood because of it.
"About the curse... What's the curse that was buried in me?"
Kim Rok Soo wanted to know about that. No, he needed to know that.
He looked straight into Kim Seung Jong's eyes. It was the first time he looked straight into his uncle's eyes after he came home from the orphanage.
He hoped his uncle wasn't lying.
He doesn't need lies to calm his heart.
He needed the truth now.
Kim Seung Jong was silent for a moment looking at those eyes that were full of despair.
