Ayanokoji Kiyotaka was sat in the front seat of the car as he was driving, his son Kyo by his side.
Kyo was staring absently out the window, lost in his own thoughts.
Kiyotaka was lost in his own thoughts as well, his mind racing back to the first time he had set foot on the campus of ANHS.
He was unsure of what the future held back then, but now he was bringing his own son to the same school, with all the expectations and uncertainties that come with it.
As the car came to a stop at the school gate, Kiyotaka turned to his son.
"Kyo, what do you think equality is?"
"Equality?" Kyo tilted his head, deep in thought.
"Yes, what do you think? Are people equal or not?"
Kyo put his finger on his chin as he hummed to himself. Kiyotaka waited, curious to see his son's thoughts on the matter.
After a moment, Kyo replied, "No, I don't think so..."
"What makes you think that?" Kiyotaka asked, intrigued to hear his son's reasoning.
"You let Keiko eat your ice cream but not me. You show favoritism, and then say we're all treated equally. But that's not true."
Kiyotaka's mouth opened to reply, but he stopped himself with a sigh. "That's not what I meant by my question."
"I was just kidding," Kyo chuckled, getting out of the car.
Kiyotaka followed suit, watching the entery the gate of ANHS, brought back some nostalgic memories
"As for your question from earlier, are people equal or not?"
Kyo said grabbing his father's attention back to him
"No, people are not equal. That's just a Idealist concept, No one can truly be equal, or can be treated equally, hierarchy comes to play one way or other..."
Kyo looked over the over ANHS gate, he was impressed, he can already imagine how big it will be from inside
"And if you are asking about people being Equal then no that's not possible either......
because everyone has different abilities and disabilities. Some are just born with talent while some work hard to achive that talent...but that's not a bad thing...." He paused as he looked over his father."Our differences are what make us special and unique. Think about it - not everyone can be the Ruler, can they? If every animal became a hunter, then who would be left to be the prey? Even our own fingers are not equal, and yet they work together perfectly."
Impressed by his son's answer Kiyotaka's asked another question
"So are you saying that there's no such thing as equality?"
Kiyotaka asked, interested to see how his son would respond.
"Not exactly," Kyo replied. "We've raised employment rates for women, created special subway cars, and even changed the language we use to refer to people with disabilities - all in the name of equality. But is it actually equality? I don't think so. "
After a little silence, kyo asked "By the way, Why are asking this suddenly? Planning on joining politics or something?"
Kyo asked teasingly, he don't know much about his paternal grandfather other then that he used to work for a big politician
"No..I have no interest in that..." Kiyotaka replied as he flicked kyo's forehead.
"Ouch....so, Why?" Kyo massager his forehead as he asked
