It had been a full week since we entered the intimidating domain of Advanced Nurturing High School. As the unrelenting summer sun beat down upon us, our lectures carried on, oblivious to the oppressive heat.

The moment our homeroom teacher, Horikita Suzune, concluded the class, she began gathering her belongings. Her calm, observant gaze, however, didn't escape my notice.

I'd detected her keen interest in me throughout the week, her eyes often lingering during class. The reason behind her scrutiny remained a mystery, and I couldn't muster the energy to react to it.

The scorching heat held me firmly in its grip, and I was preoccupied with fanning myself with a notebook. The sheen of sweat on my forehead testified to the classroom's unbearable warmth.

Once Horikita-sensei left, my attention shifted to my classmate, Miyake, seated in the desk just ahead. He turned back, an amused smile gracing his face.

"Ayanokoji, you're something else. Even Horikita-sensei's gaze couldn't disturb your composure," he remarked, laughter dancing in his voice.

Of course, Miyake had noticed it too. The way Aunt Suzune had been watching me all week.

Could it be that Dad asked Aunt to keep an eye on me to ensure I didn't cause any trouble? if that were true, then, Ouch, It hurts.

'Have a little faith in your son, Dad' I thought.

"Miyake, it's too hot for anything to bother me right now."

Miyake joined in with a hearty laugh. "You've got a point there. This heat is unbearable."

With our bags finally packed, Miyake and I decided it was time to leave as well.

During our first week at ANHS, an unlikely friendship had formed between us.

As the classroom emptied, students' voices filled the hallway. Miyake and I walked side by side, eager to escape the stifling classroom and enjoy a moment of relief during the break.

As we strolled through the corridor, Miyake broke the silence. "Are you sure you don't want to join the soccer club?"

I couldn't help but chuckle. "Miyake, this is at least the tenth time you've asked me that. Repeating the question won't change my answer. No means no. Playing soccer in this sweltering summer heat? I'll pass"

Miyake wore a somewhat worried smile as he continued tapping away on his phone. "Come on, Ayanokoji, you know, it'd be so much fun to have you on the soccer team. Plus, you mentioned you've played soccer before."

My expression remained resolute, but I could see mischief twinkling in Miyake's eyes. Suddenly, his features shifted, attempting a pitiful puppy-eyed expression. "But think about it, Ayanokoji, You are only friend I manage to have in whole week, what will I do without you..."

I raised an eyebrow, feigning suspicion. "Is this what they call emotional manipulation?" I teased, trying not to succumb to his persuasive act.

Miyake dramatically gasped, placing a hand over his heart. "How did you uncover my master plan?" he replied in a matching playful tone.

I couldn't help but smirk, mirroring his playful demeanor. "Discovering master plans is my specialty."

We continued down the corridor, our banter and laughter echoing in the halls. Despite Miyake's playful attempts, our interactions remained light-hearted, creating a comforting atmosphere in the early stages of our friendship.

After Miyake bid his farewell to Kyo, heading off to the soccer club, Kyo decided to take a leisurely stroll through the ANHS campus. He wanted to familiarize himself with the layout and discover any interesting spots. As he roamed aimlessly for a few more minutes, he found himself in a small, relatively empty area not too far from the convenience store.
