Im Deim. That means sun, day. I will start going to a private school called Bishop Ireton is Alexandria, Virginia. My first day is Monday. Tomorrow. I honestly don't know what to expect!
I've never had a boyfriend, even at my old schools. I've never had a best friend either. I've never had someone closer than a lunch buddy...Im so scared!
*ringggg ringggg* my I phone ringtone starts going off. It's midnight... Who would be calling at this hour?
"Hello?" I say
"Is this Deim Oakley?" The person asks
"Umm...who wants to know?"
"This is the Groveton City Hospital, were calling about Rose Oakley." The man said.
My mother.
"Is this Deim or not?"
I nodded and then realized he can't see me.
"Uh yeah. Now what are you calling me about?"
But I knew. My mother was diagnosed with lung cancer a few months before, and has been on bed rest for the past month.
"Your mother..has...passed."
I teared up, and hung up the phone. I threw my phone at my wall causing it to Shadder.
I layed on my bed. I was all alone. Living with my cousin Alecia. No more mommy.
Then I realized: its time to change. Change my point of view. Change my style. Change my life.
