Ridley grunted as he pulled the knife from his chest. Unfortunately for me, the blade had only penetrated a few centimeters - not enough to incapacitate him.

"We'll postpone the dance for now and make you a little more submissive first," he growled as he came towards me.

I heard a popping sound as the second cable tie snapped, giving Sam the opportunity to hit Ridley under the chin so that his teeth clashed like a blast. Even though I hadn't been able to cut the second cable tie, I seemed to have at least managed to damage it enough before Ridley attacked me that Sam was able to tear it. Ridley stumbled backwards and I immediately crawled forward to pick up the knife he had dropped.

I managed to free Sam's good leg before I heard him slap Sam hard across the face above me and yank my hair with his other hand, forcing me to my feet.

I swung the knife into his leg. He screamed but immediately punched me in the side and I gasped before he pushed me to the ground.

Sam screamed and I immediately jumped up again. Ridley had intercepted Sam's hand raised for another strike and obviously slapped his shattered one. Sam slumped back into the chair, seemingly fighting pain and fainting.

I couldn't understand how Sam got the strength to fight Ridley, but it all had to stop. For Sam's sake and most of all for his well-being.

I needed something to defend myself with. The pepper spray was still in the jacket, which I had carelessly thrown on the floor next to Sam. I ran my hands carelessly across the floor in front of me while keeping an eye on Ridley, who was busy pulling my knife out of his thigh.

My hands on the ground felt a pole. That would work. I hoped. I had to overpower him while he was still dealing with his injury. I pushed myself up and attacked Ridley, swinging the pole to hit him, but he caught the pole at the last moment and kicked me in the chest the next moment. I had to let go of it as I fell backwards, tripping over something and hitting the wall. My head hit it hard. I moaned as I slid down it.

Something fell to the ground next to me. I knocked over the table when I fell. While Ridley looked down at me, grinning and seeming to enjoy the moment as he walked towards me, I slid my hand discreetly across the floor hidden behind the fallen tabletop. I was hoping to find something that would finally stop Ridley.

"Quite the father, I have to admit. He also tried to escape me. Courage seems to run in your family."

"I will finish what he started," I replied sternly. I had no use for his compliments - if they were meant to be compliments at all.

Ridley laughed evilly as he hit the iron bar in one hand into his other palm, over and over again. Did he want to scare me? That was finally over. I knew it was just him or me. But for Sam's sake I didn't want it to be too soon. I had to get him out of here somehow and hoped with all my heart that Malcolm was already on his way. Actually, I just had to stall Ridley long enough.

"You're just as much of a dream dancer as your father. Nobody can do anything against me, especially not a woman!"

Meanwhile, my other hand felt something heavy and I grabbed it tightly.

"You're just like all men. That's your problem, Ridley. They all always underestimated me!"

His eyes narrowed and I threw what was in my hand at him. It was a full paint can and it hit him right on the head. He yelped and I jumped to my feet, slamming my body into his and knocking him to the ground. I tried to hit him, but he grabbed the pole in both hands and rammed it under my chin. He tried to push me back as I pushed the bar away from my throat that was threatening to cut off the air. I fought against it with all my strength and everything I had to offer, not wanting to let him win or give him any advantage. My head spun feverishly as to how I could neutralize it. I had to be able to do something!
