She was there, and so was he. Everything was dark and as she looked around, there wasn't a ping of recognition. Kimiko looked behind her and was Jun. She raised a brow skeptically. She literally just met him yesterday and now he was here? She shook her head and went to walk away, to further explore her neighboring surroundings it was way more important than her recent addition to her bakery. That was when she heard it, "Miko! Take my hand! Hurry!" He called out, panic clearly in his voice.
She was confused. The thing that struck her the most was the tone of his voice. He sounded genuinely shocked. Kimiko needed to made a decision. She nodded, deciding to go with it. Kimiko about to grab his hand when she was pulled back into a strong embrace. "Ah!"
"Kimiko! No!" He exclaimed, running towards her and the mysterious man that had her trapped.
She struggled, she thrashed, she wasn't about to be kidnapped or murdered, or whatever was about to happen. Something came over her. It was a wave of some strange feeling that she identified as comfort. How could she be comfortable? She looked up and froze. All Kimiko could see was his piercing red eyes. The fiery color that swirled within his irises burned crimson. His gaze paralyzed her in the spot she stood at. She couldn't see his face, only his dark red eyes.
Jun was reaching out to grab her, calling out her name, but all she could even think about was his eyes. And before she could react the man spoke in a low voice that chilled her to the bone.
"You're mine Kimiko."
She woke up in a flash. The sunshine was hitting her face. It was the first day of summer, and she had goose bumps all up her arms and legs. She shielded her face with her hands and got up to close the shades. It was too bright. Everything was too bright.
The clock said 6:00 a.m. She tried to sleep but it was no use, she was awake for the day.
Kimiko arrived that the bakery at around 6:15, three minutes late from the last Saturday, she mentally noted She and saw Jun through the large glass window. He was already at the counter, wiping it off and writing the day's specials on the chalkboard to the left of the handing menu on the wall. He stood on a stool, clearly too short to reach. But there was just one problem. She never gave him the key.
"Hello Kimiko. I came here early to make up for yesterday." Jun greeted with a warm smile and a light pink tint to his pale face. He was clearly embarrassed that she arrived before he was finished.
"Oh," She paused, thinking of how she was going to phrase her question. "How did you get in here?" She was dead serious.
He shrugged his shoulders. "You left the door open. That's dangerous to do you know. Some weirdo could break in!"
Miko gave him a look that said 'Oh really? Isn't that what you did'? She didn't want to argue, but she knew she locked the door. She specifically remembered it.
Then she remembered her dream. She remembered the dark, his voice, the feeling that swept over her when she looked into the stranger's eyes. She needed to tell someone because it was driving her mad. "Uh...Jun?"
"Yeah?"
"I had a weird dream last night and I just need to tell someone." She sighed. Usually, she would never tell anyone about her dreams, they always seemed to be strange, but the one she had last night took the cake.
"I'm a someone?" He asked hopefully. Kimiko felt bad for him. He seemed to be genuinely happy that he was noticed by her.
"Yes, of course you are." She smiled back softly to be polite. " Okay. But you can't tell anyone... In my dream we were reaching for each other, and just when we were about to touch, I got pulled into an embrace by a guy with red eyes. It was so weird." She explained.
