Outskirts of Gotham City:

Garfield POV:

The engine of the Porsche purred quietly on the long stretch of road leading into Gotham City. The last orangish beams of sun disappeared behind the horizon and the darkness of the city began to take hold. Personally I enjoy the darkness but that may have been the case from the way I was raised.

I looked over to see Raven, her hair flowing in the wind from the open window next to her. She took off her sunglasses as the sun finished setting but I could see her fidgeting with her hands a little bit. I kept one hand on the wheel and laced the other with hers. She looked at me with a nervous smile.

"Everything is going to be fine Rae. My family is going to adore you. Just like I do." I gently kissed the top of her hand, the fidgeting slowed but I could tell she was still a little nervous.

"I know, I just...your dad is THE Bruce Wayne! What if he expects me to be rich or a supermodel or-" I squeeze her hand tightly.

"Just take a deep breath Rae." I pause for a moment to let her regain herself.

"Do you trust me?" I put as much reassurance into my voice as possible. She takes a moment but nods her head.

"Always" I smile wide and give her a small kiss. She giggles a bit then relaxes into her seat as we finish our jaunt through the city. Our surroundings change from inner city to large plots of empty wheat and grass, until we come upon a small forest, a small dirt path leading through until it turns into concrete once again.

The trees give way to a large wrought-iron fence with a large W in the center. I hop out of the car, punch in the code, pull the car in and close the gate behind us. We eventually make it to the large roundabout in front of the manor. A few vehicles are filling the space already. I see Dick's motorcycle and Alfred's car but another car just pulled up and some people were getting out. A man in his twenties and a woman around the same age but with a shock of long white hair.

We park right behind them and the slam of my door gets the man's attention. As I hop out of the car he smiles. I look at him questioningly, not too sure who this could be.

"Well I know it's been a few years but I hope you didn't forget me little brother." His voice immediately makes me flash back into a memory.

Five Years Ago:

Arkham Asylum - Gotham City - Night

Garfield POV:

My footfalls echo throughout the halls of the empty wing of the asylum. My heart caught in my throat as I ran, following the beeping GPS.

"Batman, I'm coming close to his location now. What do I do when I get there?" The static of the comms ring in my ear before a response comes through.

"Joker is not to be underestimated. He knows we're on our way, tread carefully but do not engage until I get there." I slow up as the beeping stops, the locator showing the GPS in the room a few steps ahead of me.

"Yes sir. I have eyes on the room he's been held in, sending my location now." I turn off the locator and pull out a v-rang.

"On my way." The comm goes silent and the only sound I could hear in the hallway was now just my breathing. A small groan interrupts my thoughts, coming from the other side of the door. I gently open the door, almost no noise being made in the process. I peek inside to see an empty room, the old contents of some kind of surgery area. The only thing out of place was a chair placed in the center of the room, with a person in it, their head down and breathing shallow. The small amount of light in the room was reflecting off a small symbol on the front of the figures chest, a large letter R.
