Slight Angst

~Third person POV~

Kurapika had a very hard day. One of, if not, the hardest day of his life. The scarlet eyes of the kurta were auctioned off at the yorknew auction. He had to retrieve them for his boss. He kept on bidding. One million. two million.  ten million. fifteen million. one billion. finally, two point nine billion. the eyes went to kurapika. he was horrified when he was handed the eyes. 

It was just floating in preserving liquid. he hated it. He was sick at the sight. They were plucked from his clans face. He couldn't believe someone would do this. The phantom troupe no less. Every time he so much as glanced at the eyes he felt nothing but rage. There was nothing worse that can happen to him. He never wanted to see these eyes again. 

He went back to his place of work to give the eyes to his boss. When miss neon woke up and saw the eyes her face lit up. "Wow they're so beautiful! Thank you daddy I love them!" She thanked her dad. "of course pumpkin!" She and her dad laughed together gleefully. This made kurapika much more angry. "I will be leaving now." he said as calmly as he could. "Thank you kurapika." he clenched his fists discreetly. "Of course sir." he said holding back all of his anger and tears. 

He left the building and called leorio. He needed to be with someone he loved and trusted. Just like he loved and trusted the kurta. his phone rang as he waited for Leorio to pick up. "hello?" he felt his heart slow down in relief. "Leorio hi uh-" he choked back tears. "Hi! kurapika is everything ok?" he couldn't hold it in anymore. he sobbed on the phone. covering his mouth. "No." he said quietly but loud enough for him to hear. 

"Its ok I can see you're not very far. would you want to come over and we can talk about it?" he gasped through his sobs. "Yes please." He whispered. "Ok love ill see you soon. Am I okay to hang up?" "Mhm. Ill see you in a bit." Hearing Leorio's voice was enough to regulate his breathing, so he could speak a little clearer. They hung up. 

Once Kurapika arrived, he knocked on the door. The second he did it opened. Kurapika was still in tears. his tear stained face made leorio's face soften. "Hey kurapika. Come in okay?" He put his arm around his shoulder and led him to his couch. once they sat down Leorio asked, "Do you mind telling me whats going on?" He grabbed his hand. trying his best to comfort kurapika as he talked. "Leorio. They had scarlet eyes up for auction." he cried harder than before. "I had to get them for my boss. I hated it so much leorio my familys eyes are in fucking tubes!"

 he paused for a minute to cry in his hands. Leorio pulled kurapika in for a hug rubbing his back. "I just think that if I didn't hide, some of them would still be alive. Im an idiot. I can't believe I did that to them." he managed to say through endless tears. "Kurapika listen to me." he pulled back but still held on to his shoulders. 

"You did nothing wrong. You were a kid and you were scared. I don't think a kid would do anything other than hide. You are not an idiot either. You are the smartest most amazing and beautiful person I know." Kurapika still cried but with a bit of happiness in it this time. He smiled a little. "I know you loved your family kurapika. Because you're so kind and empathetic. You care for others. You try to help." He got pulled back into a hug. he sobbed into leorio's chest. "But I didn't help my family." he cried. 

"your family would have wanted you to live a good long life. I know they're happy you lived. They're proud of you. Just like how I'm proud of you." He hugged leorio tighter. He was so lucky to have him. "Thank you so much Leorio. I love you so much." He said crying less. "Of course. I love you too."

after a little while of sitting in silence in each others presence, Kurapika had calmed down. "How are you feeling now?" Leorio asked. "better now thanks to you mr leorio." He chuckled at the name. "Good. Im really glad." they both smiled. kurapika was being held by leorio on the couch bridal style while he had his head pressed to his chest. Leorio loved the feeling of his boyfriend in his arms. he could see kurapika was drifting off to sleep.

 he couldn't imagine how much energy he spent on crying tonight. "you getting tired lovely?" with his eyes closed he nodded. "Can I spend the night with you?" he smiled at the boy in his arms. "You didn't even have to ask" Leorio stood up and took kurapika to his bedroom. He placed him on the bed where he was already dozing off. Leorio stared at his beauty. He moved some of his hair out of his face and behind his ear admiring him. 

"Youre so precious you know that?" kurapika laughed softly and quietly. "I'm not." he whispered. "Don't say that you're adorable babe." He said. "Fine but come here I wanna cuddle with you." He held his arms out so he could hug his boyfriend. Once leorio got in bed, kurapika imedietly wrapped his arms around him. leorio returned the action. "Goodnight my love get some rest. I love you" Leorio said. he kissed the top of his head. "Mk I will I love you too." he whispered. 

and those were the last words he said before falling asleep. There they lay. comfortable in bed cuddling each other to sleep. Despite Kurapikas horrible day, He'd say it ended pretty well. He was happy to be with the man he loved and trusted. Just like his family.
