The sound of laughter and friendly banter continued to fill the room as game night carried on. The tension that had accompanied Jahmir's unexpected appearance had gradually faded into the background, replaced by a genuine effort to enjoy the evening.
I'm suprised he didn't try to do or say anything out of order, he actually was well behaved. Spencer on the other hand looked like his head was in another orbit. He was late, wasn't really paying attention and I can tell something is bothering but I just didn't want to assume.
By the time we had finished game night everybody was getting some food, and it so happened that me and Jahmir were getting food at the same time.
I stood next to him while throwing some glances questioning myself why he was so well behaved, the Jahmir I knew would've thrown 100 fits. His eyes were focused on his options on the table.
I cleared my throat, breaking the silence between us. "So Jahmir", I began tentatively "I have to admit, I'm impressed" I say while adding more things to my plate.
He looked at me, his smile widening, and he chuckled softly "What your tired of Spencer already? Guess I have to spilt that 20 with him" He blurts out turning to face.
"Never..but what exactly do you mean by split that 20 with him?" I ask him confused
"Your brother and I bet that you guys wouldn't last a week, and we both won so we gotta spilt."
I couldn't believe what Jahmir had just said. My mind raced, and I felt a mix of emotions—surprise, amusement, and a tinge of annoyance. I didn't know whether to be impressed by their audacity or frustrated by their lack of faith in our relationship.
I chuckled, shaking my head in disbelief. "Seriously? You guys bet on us?" I asked, half-amused and half-baffled.
"Come on Liv, we both know Spencer is your rebound. You're probably just using to get me jealous so I could come back but so far your plan isn't working." He says still wearing that mischievous grin.
"Uh well we are never getting back together, and I'm not using spencer for anything and If I was it wouldn't be getting back together with you." Olivia says walking sitting next to Spencer.
As Olivia settled down next to Spencer, the atmosphere between them was noticeably different. The earlier tension had returned, albeit in a milder form, and there was an unspoken discomfort in the air. Spencer, who had been oblivious to the bet between Olivia and Jahmir, couldn't help but sense that something was off.
He glanced at Olivia, his brow furrowing in concern. "Everything okay?" he asked softly, trying to keep the conversation between them discreet.
Olivia sighed, giving Spencer a small, reassuring smile. "Yeah, it's just... Jahmir and my brother had a little bet going on about us," she confessed, her voice low. "They bet that we wouldn't last a week."
Spencer's eyes widened in surprise, and he couldn't help but chuckle. "Really? Well, I'm not one to back down from a challenge," he said, trying to lighten the mood. "Besides, I like a good underdog story."
"Seriously Spencer, what if I did that to him and Simone?"
"Don't worry about him he's just trying to get under your skin."
As the evening wore on, the tension between Olivia, Jahmir, and Spencer continued to ebb and flow like a subtle undercurrent beneath the laughter and camaraderie of the game night
"Hey everyone, since game night is coming to an end, how about we end it with a BANGER!" Jordan yells out. "Put a finger down??" He asks smiling.
The suggestion to play "Put a Finger Down" was met with enthusiastic agreement from the group. The game was known for being light-hearted and fun, perfect for breaking any remaining tension in the room. They all gathered in a circle, each taking a turn to share a statement, and anyone who had done that particular action had to put a finger down.
