Leo hadn't expected to be sitting at the big house with his girlfriend Calypso discussing the details of the "Not-Quest" they were being sent on. Sure he'd been wanting a break from camp and working for a while, but this was not what he had in mind.

"Thank you again Calypso for volunteering yourself and Leo on this journey."

"Chiron it's okay to call this a quest. That's basically what it is, without the whole song and rhyme of course." Leo sighed picking his nails under the table anxiously. Calypso moved to take hold of his hands before he could do any damage.

"But this is not a quest Valdez, it is merely a check in for Lady Hecate to keep tabs on her pet world," Chiron said. The Centaur sighed deeply, raising a hand to massage his temples. "Every few decades Lady Hecate requests a demigod to take part in physically inspecting the state of her beloved world."

Calypso hummed in pleasure, "I think this is a great opportunity to get away from it all. I know how antsy you get being cooped up in the bunker day in and day out." She squeezes Leo's hand tightly before continuing, "Think of this as a vacation. Surely it won't take too long." Calypso puts on her best puppy eyes, as a cherry on top.

Leo didn't last a second gazing into his girlfriends eyes, "ugh, fine I guess it would be a nice change of pace." He shifts his attention to Chiron, "When do we leave?"

"You'll be sent to Scotland within the next week to get your bearings and gather information. Hecate will leave bi-daily letters to give you further instructions," Chiron states, "If you have any questions you may ask them now."

"I have a question, How long will this Not-Quest last?" Leo felt anxious asking the question fearing the answer.

"From past experiences, these Missions tend to last between six to ten months. It shouldn't take any longer than a year." Leo was surprised by that answer. A whole year? Leo thought, do I really want to do this? He looks to his right and meets Calypso's pleading gaze.

"Well, I suppose we should pack a few things before we leave then." Calypso's face grew a stunning smile as she cheered and hugged her boyfriend.

After that time passed in a hazy blur of packing in the Hephaestus cabin. There wasn't much to pack when the only things you possess are trinkets and two sets of camp t-shirts and kakis. Leo had finished zipping his duffel bag when a light popping was heard near his bed.

There he found a neat envelope with a huge letter H scribed front and center. It was rather obvious who had sent the letter.

"Welp, guess this is the beginning of the mission." Leo got up from his cabin floor and made his way outside. He immediately made his way to where Calypso was currently packing in the Hermes cabin.

He knocked twice before walking in, because he's not an animal. Leo easily spotted his beloved girlfriend in the far corner of the cabin. She seems to have an identical letter in her hands.

"Calypso! You got one too?" Leo shouts getting mildly annoyed looks from snoozing campers. Serves them right for not attending camp activities, they should be thankful he doesn't rat them out to Chiron.

"Oh, yeah I was just about to open it." Calypso says turning the flat thing over. "Let's see what's inside."

Without much warning, she unfold the envelope neatly. Leo follows suit gracefully ripping the letter open. Calypso rolls her eyes lightheartedly. They unfold the letters and hold them side by side. Unsurprisingly they were almost exactly the same.

Dear Leonidas Valdez,

Leo winced at the sight of his full name.

Within these next few letter you will gain the knowledge and wisdom you'll need on your journey.

Starting with the history of wizards-

The letter goes on about, you guessed it, the history of wizards. Leo couldn't help but feel uninterested as his eyes read the words. He doesn't really comprehend the whole thing, for one letter it sure is giving a lot of info.

Wizards and mortals have lived in harmony with little to no conflict for millennia upon millennia. This all changed during the medieval era when the mortals began to fear the magical elements.

By the 1700's, prejudice and mistrust plagued the wizards to the point of the collective decision to hide away from the mortal eyes. The Statute of Secrecy is signed, the Ministry of Magic is formed and wizards go into hiding.

The Ministry of Magic deals with the formation of a government, social structure as well as infrastructure while managing and guiding everything from dragons in the mountains and spectral magical creatures named Dementors, in Azkaban. It also oversees the education of young wizards and witches.

Leo took a deep breath, trying to wrap his mind around all the information. He looks to Calypso. Who seems just as overwhelmed. Leo takes her hand gently, giving her a reassuring smile when their eyes met. They read the last section.

That should be sufficient knowledge for you to study. In the coming week you will be given the materials needed to blend in with the wizards and witches as necessary. That is all.
