The desperate father stared at the flames as the demon rose from them.

He'd never felt so afraid but as the 6"9 monstrosity with blackened skin and claws longer than his hands themselves stood in his full glory stepped towards him only to be prevented by a ring of salt and blessed ash surrounding him.

"Who dares summon me?" The being roared.

"I am Lord Darren Ever, of The Kingdom Of Ophious. I've resurrected you to serve me and to protect my daughter, Calliope Ever! You will not harm me or my family! You will do only as I say, lest you burn from holy water and become trapped lower than the hell you came from!" Lord Ever shouted to be heard over the flames.

"Do you know who I am, mortal? Do you know who you're selling your soul to?" The horned creature questioned.

"You are Delphinium, poison to mankind's mind, the doom of the damned should they burn a field or shed blood on sacred land! You own those who cross you or disrespect what thou father who art in heaven made. You were cast out yet you are still righteous! I say your name! I command it! Delphinium of the seventh hell, protect my youngest daughter for all her natural days and cause her no harm! You will consume my soul at the end of my natural days and I will be your eternal servant! Should my daughter be harmed under your care, the contract will be broken and you will suffer greater consequence! I command it!"

Lord Ever slit his left palm over the flames as a black tattoo snaked it's way up starting from the cut and ending in an intricate pattern of larkspur and thorns over his heart.

The demon collapsed into the ring as the flames died. His skin slowly lightened until settling on a pale tone, his hands and feet maintaining a black dark enough to seem to suck the light from the rest of the room. The contrast wasn't far off from a starless sky and a full moon.

His eyes were still pitch black and his horns and claws remained intact as the Lord threw a dark tunic and a pair of breeches at him with an order to get dressed.

Lord Ever left Delphinium to make himself presentable while he checked to make sure his family was still asleep.

He was not looking forward to telling his youngest angel that she must now keep the company of something she so loathed.

Not loathing so much the demon but the slave.
