Chapter 7

When I arrive at the school called "Gator High," I go to the office to grab my schedule.

I walk up to the office lady.

"Uh... hi, I'm Beatrice Prior, here to pick up my schedule." I say politely.

"Ok, wait here while I go to the printing room and print it out. I'm Mrs. Kendallson by the way," she explains.

"Sure," I respond, sitting in a comfy chair.

She leaves and I just look around the office.

"Alrighty! I'm back here you go," she says handing a neon orange piece of paper with print on it.

"Thanks," I reply.

"Oh! and sign here so we have record of you coming by the office,"she explains pointing to a blank column.

"Ok. I'm done."

"OK. You can leave. Good luck on your first day!"

"Thank you have a nice day," I acknowledge an walk out. I take a look at my schedule:

Beatrice Abigail Prior:

LOCKER #231 // COMBONATION: 03, 27, 46

SCHEDULE:

1. READING / LANGUAGE ARTS - MRS. WOODROW

2. MATH - MR. BENSON

3. P.E. - COACH STINNET

4. FREE PERIOD || LUNCH - N/A

5. SCIENCE - MR. IDITY

6. HISTORY - MS. ANDERSON

7. CHOIR - MS. EUREKA

While reading it, I accidentally bump into someone.

"Sorry. I'm really clumsy."

"Oh, no it's fine. I also am clumsy."

I look up and notice she is wearing white skinny jeans, a black t-shirt, and an olive green vest that goes over the shirt. She also wears black Vans. She has light brown skin and has dark brown hair that is really curly; curlier than mine.

"I'm Beatrice, but call me Tris," I greet.

"I'm Sydney, but call me Sydney," she greets back. We both giggle.

"Can I see your schedule?" she asks. I hand her my paper. "We actually have all classes together! And my locker is 4 down from yours."

"Great! You can like guide me." I say.

"Yeah. Sure."

And with that we walk to class.

My first two classes were really boring, but everything has been going well. All we did was talk about expectations and I introduced myself. Lunch has finally rolled around.

Sydney invites me to sit at lunch with her friends.

I hope I don't embarrass myself.
