If Only

Chapter 04

(Nivi POV)

That one line broke my heart. Shattered my heart in every way possible to get broken. I wish I had the same courage to ask him out. I didn't know if he has even a single bit of interest in me.

I pretended to hear nothing and went out after taking my notes. I ran once I am out his sight. Why am I even getting shattered? He never saw me or even noticed me nor did I ever made a move myself? The pain is unbearable. I went out, I saw Dia. I ran to her, as I reached her she turned to me. She noticed my face and held it in her hands.

"Nivi, why are you crying?", she asked and hugged me.

"Why am I disturbed when someone asked him out for a date?", I asked letting those damn tears fall. 

"Shush, I am here", she said and brushed my hair.

I regained myself soon and started to walk to the hostel. 

"Dia, you go first. I will come after sometime", I said and took a turn towards the park.

I went towards the swing, the orange and yellow hues with a little pink shade looks so damn good. The park is mostly empty a couple of groups of kids are playing by the slide and sandbox.

I sat on the empty, lonely looking swing. It is like the swing is waiting for someone to come to it. 

"Doesn't it look funny? Two lonely looking creations brought together", I smiled as I talked to myself leaning my head on the chain of the swing and looking up at the pretty looking sky.

"Look at that light shade of pink and lilac, it looks like the sky is blushing, maybe the sun was complimenting the beauty of the sky", I continued.

"The birds must be teasing them and the clouds look like the sky is trying to hide that blush with them", I said. 

"Sis?", I look at the voice.

"Here", a cute boy who must be between 5 to 6 years old, extended his hand with a small bush rose in his hand said. 

I took the rose from him and brushed his hair. 

"Thank you so much, my lil man", I said and smiled taking the rose he gave.

"Hehehe, wilcome uu", he said. 

My poor heart. The way he tried to say your welcome. His giggle made me smile even more. He ran to his friends and laughed with them. I looked at the rose. The breeze flew across my face. 

It reminds me of the time I saw him first. 

(Flashback 2 years ago)

"Nivi!!!! Where did you forget your laptop?", Anya scolded me.

"If I remember my laptop, I won't lose it", I said. 

I searched our desk. Now, I am in the library. We came here to study for our exam an hour ago. Seriously? I sat right here. Where is it? I went to the front desk to ask if someone left an orphaned laptop.

"Excuse me?", I called.

"Yes? How can I help you?", she said.

"Did someone leave a laptop here which they found?", I asked hoping for positive answer. 

"Is it this the one you are asking about?", she said pulling a laptop from the corner.

"Yes!! Thank you so much", I thanked her after realizing the laptop is mine.

"Someone found and left it here", she said.

I thanked her and went back to the class. I took my seat beside smarty(Anya).
