Alecia

I was in The Arena, once again being forced to fight yet another opponent. This one was a little tougher to beat than many of the others I had been up against, but I couldn't allow myself to lose. The man managed to catch me off-guard and get his hands around my neck as he started to choke me and pushed me so my back was against The Arena wall.

I didn't want to use my powers just yet so I tried prying his hands from my throat, but he was
physically stronger than me and wouldn't budge. So, I quickly put my arms between his and grabbed
both sides of his face before pushing my thumbs in his eyes to the point where they started to bleed.

He yelled in pain as he released me and I coughed a little as I started breathing properly again.

I'm so going to get punished for that.

Any form of weakness we show, no matter how small, is worthy of a punishment in Boss' eyes.

While the muscular male was distracted by rubbing his bloody eyes in hopes of getting rid of the pain, I
quickly roundhouse kicked him in the face and sent him tumbling to the floor.

It was then I decided to use my powers as I raised a hand towards the man and made thorn covered
vines appear through the dirt covered floor. The vines wrapped around the man's arms and legs,
dragging him back to the ground as he attempted to stand.

The thorns tore at his flesh the more he moved and struggled against them as the vines slowly, but
surely, dragged him to the ground. As soon as the man's head hit the ground, I made another vine
appear and wrap tightly around his neck.

At this point I would usually bring out my knife and stab him in the chest, but I didn't this time and
simply allowed the vines to choke him to death. Soon enough, he was dead and I looked up at the
crowd as I usually do to signify the end of the fight and the crowd cheered loudly as they realised I
had won.

I'll never be able to understand how they find amusement and entertainment in all this.

My eyes landed on Xavier, a habit I seemed to have made since I first saw him, as I did my usual visual scan of the crowd. I caught a glance of him a couple of times during the fight. He seemed worried about me, which was understandable considering what was at stake if I was to lose. But now he seemed a little relieved as well as grossed out by the way I had killed my opponent.

I don't know what I found so interesting about Xavier. Every time we met up a part of me was
secretly happy he came to see us while the rest of me was screaming for him to leave as soon as
possible.

He said he wanted to help us, but how the hell would he do that?

I entered my cage once more and Mark closed me in and wheeled the cage away, since my fight was
the last one for the day. I continued to think.

There were so many cameras around the place that Boss used to keep an eye on things and the guards were everywhere too.

How the hell was he supposed to get past all that?

Whatever plan he comes up with better be good.
If not, then we're all as good as dead.

Jacob

I clenched my fist as I stood outside the door to Boss' office.

Karen was being punished for stumbling over her feet at one point as she fought today. To be fair
though, that man was really strong. I'm surprised she came out of the fight as unharmed as she was,
though she still carried many cuts and bruises.
