Loud music and different noices can be heard as soon as I stepped outside the bus. It's 6:30 in the evening and the beach is busy. There's this thing they call, 'Fire Friday'.
It's basically a bonfire night, where everybody can join. I'm not used to being in a crowded area. And the beach where Starr and I hang out is jam packed. Nakakahilo.
"Hey bae." A girl with a wavy hair came up to me. I just smiled at her and continued walking pero pinigilan niya ako.
"Wait, I think you're lost. I'm Nazzi by the way." She said and extended her hands to me.
"Hunter." I said and turned around. I didn't shake her hand. I'm not in the mood talking to strangers.
"Ang sungit mo naman. Wanna join our circle? C'mmon it's gonna be fun." She asked while holding a glass of wine on her left hand. I looked at the circle she's referring to. A group of people I don't belong. So I rejected her offer.
"I'm sorry, but I'm with someone." I was about to leave when she grabbed my arm.
"It's fine, don't be shy. Mababait naman kami eh. And I don't see someone with you. Look, we have the best marshmallows and expensive beers--------"
"HUNTER!"
There I grabbed my arm from Naz and gave her a smirk.
"She's that someone." I immediately left that area and ran to Starr.
"Ang tagal mo naman! Tingnan mo, oh. Sunog na yung marshmallow ko." And again, her duckling pout. Sunog na nga yung marshmallow niya. I laughed and threw her burnt marshmallow on the sand. But minutes later, nawala yung marshmallow niya sa buhangin.
"Oh, nasan na yung marshmallow mo?" I asked.
"Kinain ko. Sayang eh." My eyes widened as she showed me the leftover in her tounge.
"What? Stellar, what did you do?!" Isn't she aware na magkakasakit siya niyan? Madumi na yun! I threw it on this dirty sand na tinatapaktapakan ng mga tao!
"Joke lang! Hahahahahaha." Then there she is again, laughing like there's no tomorrow. Pinagtitinginan na kami ng lahat. So I stuffed all of the marshmallows in her mouth para tumahimik siya.
"Ang seryoso mo naman! Joke lang naman yun, ih. Oo nga pala, sino yung kausap mo kanina? Ganda, ah? Hahaha." Tss.
"No one." I said and made a s'more.
"Tingnan mo, Hunter! Nagsimula na!" She shouted and pointed everyone in a big circle, holding a firework stick. Starr grabbed me by my arm and joined ourselves in the circle.
Then there's a big bonfire at the center. Everyone danced and enjoyed the night away.
