The loud buzzing sound from the digital alarm clock Biborah had set at six A.M jolted her eyes open, she groaned, rolled over and switched it off. She pulled the covers off and realized she had slept in her clothes, not that she was surprised, Bee thought as she walked groggily to the bathroom, she was going to have to think of new ways to kill someone and actually be able to get away with it. And when she learns of those ways, her first victim would be Alice.

Maybe it was a bad idea to have your friends as clients after all, Bee mused, but then these were the friends that had supported and helped her business grow and she knew she would sacrifice her sleep again for her friends if she had to.

But she was allowed to bitch about it.

   God she ached all over.

She walked back to her bedroom and picked up her phone. She wasn't surprised to see that her mom had sent over ten voicemails.

She'd known it would backfire when she'd taught her mom how to send voice messages, Bee thought, rolling her eyes. She scrolled through and found another one from her boyfriend. She opened it.

"Hey babe, so I already ordered pizza before i got your message about staying at the shop late, but i am going to save you at least two slices, Charles came over and you know how he is with food. And tell Alice she owes me for this. Call me okay? Love you, bye."

Bee smiled, her second victim would be Charles. She could ask Denis for his forgiveness later for killing his younger brother, or they could just kill him together, after all, they both have concluded he was becoming a big pain in the ass.

Her smile faded when she saw a message from Susan. Susan! How could she have forgotten Susan was back in the country.

She didn't bother opening the message as she darted back into the bathroom to have a quick shower. In less than thirty minutes she was pulling up at the house. She opened the door and wasn't surprised to see her mom quietly but firmly giving out orders to the house helps as they clean the big main living room.

"Hey mom" she called out as she walked over to give her a kiss.

"Why haven't you returned any of my messages? Do you know how worried i have been?" Hanna demanded hotly.

"Mom, chill. I am here now aren't i?" Bee wiped the cheeky smile off her face when her mom bristled. "Okay okay, i am sorry. I didn't get them until this morning, i will do better next time okay?"

"Better. You look tired" Hanna said, studying her daughter's face. "Did you get any sleep at all?"

"Just about three hours of it" Bee returned dryly. "Quit worrying, i can always get more. Now where is Susan?"

"I should have known she is the reason you're here so early, you never come in here so early" Hanna grumbled but allowed herself smile. "she is in her old bedroom, and if she is still asleep don't wake her up, come down and have a cup of coffee."

"Yes ma'am" Bee said as she headed upstairs. She knocked on the door gently, opened it and peeked inside "Sue?" She whispered as she entered. "You awake?" She waited for a response and when she didn't get any, she walked over to the bed and found Susan still sleeping.

She stood over her oldest friend for a moment and just simply admired her face.

The last time she'd seen her was almost fifteen years ago, on the front porch, teary eyed and begging her to promise she'lld write her everyday.

A promise she had kept, substituting the letters for video calls as time went by, though Bee saw now that the video calls and pictures she had occasionally sent had done little justice to her beauty.

  God she was beautiful.

Even in her sleep.

Her beautiful dark skin glowed as a ray of the morning sun grazed her face, her lips were slightly parted as she breathe gently through them.

Bee pursed her own lips and thought of the kind of magic her boyfriend could do with his camera if he saw Susan like this.

She sat down on the bed beside her and softly called out her name, she watched Susan's eyelids flutter before she opened them and settled her eyes on her. The eyes immediately lit up in surprise.

  "Bee?"

"Yup" Bee laughed when she found herself  suddenly wrapped in a tight hug. "God i have missed you" She said, returning the hug with the same vigor.

Susan pulled back and affectionately smoothed a hand over her hair. "Damn, you look amazing!"

"I was just about to say the same about you, i'm sorry i wasn't here yesterday" Bee started but Susan cut her off, waving a hand.

"Oh that's fine, Hanna explained. I'm just really happy to see you now, you didn't mention you got your own place the last time we spoke"

" The last time i spoke to you, your father had just died, i think we can both agree that was hardly the time." Bee pointed out. "It was just time
Jare, plus mom and i were fighting all the time, i figured some space might do us some good, you know?"

"I wish i did know what that feels like" Susan said, angry at herself for the brief sadness and regret that washed over her.

Bee reached out and tucked a strand of hair behind Susan's ear. "She is here now" she said quietly.

  "And I wonder why"

"Well, you just got here, don't stress it. Focus on the things that're pressing now, we will figure the "whys" later, and i am here if you need me."

"Thanks Bee. Think you could stick around while we make plans for the funeral?"

"Girl, there is no where i'd rather be. Damn, you put on some good weight and in the right places too, might i add" Bee said when Susan got out of bed.

"Your mother said i was skinny just yesterday" Susan said laughing.

Bee rolled her eyes "You could have came back weighing over one hundred and eighty and you'lld still be skinny in my mom's eyes." She said, standing up too. "I'm going to head downstairs and hey, if mom asks, you were already awake when i got here"

"Uh uh. Still very scared of Hanna i see"

"Girl, why you think i really moved out?" Bee smiled as Susan's laughter trailed down with her.
