🍕Sam🍕
"Come on, Lance! Say daddy!" Sam held your son high in the air. "Dad-dy!" He said slower. Lance just smiled and babled at him. Sam sighed. "Come on, bud...it's me. Daddy!" He said it a little louder this time, and Lance's face went from happy to confused. Sam finally sighed in defeat and lowered Lance."You will say it one day!" Sam told his son, who again just giggled at his dad. "Say what?" You walked into the house holding boxes of pizza from the saloon in your arms. "Food!" Sam exclaimed, quickly coming over to you with Lance, Vivi hot on his heels, hoping to get any pizza droppings. You laughed and walked past your husband toward the kitchen. "You want Lance to say food?, no. I'm trying to get Lance to say daddy." You took Lance from his arms and kissed Sam's cheek. "He'll get there when he's ready. For now, you want some pizza?" "Piz...za?"
You and Sam froze, then looked down at Lance on your arms. He looked at you with a big smile. "Pizza...?" He said again. You smiled wide. "Yea? You want pizza?" You asked. Sam stared with his mouth open. "Pizza!" Lance yelled, and you laughed. "You can't have pizza yet, but as soon as you can!" You looked at Sam. "Pizza!" You said, "Like father like son." Sam looked at Lance. "Pizza?" Then Sam finally grinned and yelled, "Pizza!"
🏈Alex🏈
Alex was sitting on the couch with Skyler in his arms. He was feeding her with a bottle while he watched the gridball game. You were working outside on the farm. Lewis had put a reward up for whoever could harvest and ship a bunch of blueberries by the end of the season. You were fairly sure they would all just go to him, but hey, money is money."See them, Skyler? This is dad's favorite sport! And when you're older I show you how to throw a gridball too!" Skyler reached toward the TV and babbled incoherently. "Can you say gridball for me?" Alex asked, then repeated the word again extra slowly. Slyler, however, just babbled some more, making a small spit bubble. "How about tunnelers?" Nothing. "Sports?" Skyler started looking around the room. Alex sighed and smiled. "Alright, kid, you win, no talking yet... but..." Alex turned the tv off, seeing that the Tunnelers were destroying the other team and went to grab a bunch of items.
You had come back into the house and watched Alex standing above Skyler, who was surrounded by various sports balls. There was a gridball, basketball, baseball, soccer ball, and a tennis ball. "Um.. Alex?" "Hey babe! Wanna watch?" "What did you do?" You went to stand next to him, "I just wanted to see what she's naturally inclined to?" You just stared at him for a moment. You didn't want to argue with Alex's logic and decided just to let it slide. Alex kneeled down, "Ok, Skyler, pick whatever you want!" Skyler looked at her dad, then over to you. You just smiled at her as she turned around and started crawling forward. You heard Alex take a big breath as Skyler crawled... right past the balls and toward Louis. She patted the cats head gently, "Kitty!" She squealed. You gasped and ran over to your daughter, "Alex! Her first word!" "Kitty!" "Isn't that exiting Alex!?....Alex?" Alex was dejectedly picking up the balls, "Alex..." "She's growing up too fast..." Alex whispered. You just smiled and cuddled your daughter.
✈️Harvey✈️
You held May in your lap while Harvey held Luke in the Cindersap Forest. You four were out for a picnic and sitting peacefully on a blanket you had brought with you. "Hey, Doc?" "Hm?" You laid May down again as she started reaching for her toes. "When do you think they'll talk?" You asked, leaning your head against his shoulder. Harvey put Luke down next to his sister and thought for a moment. "Soon I should think..?" You smiled and picked up May again."Come on, May! Let's hear ya! Papa? Farmer? Coffee?" You tried multiple different words. Harvey watched this all with a loving smile, then turned his gaze to Luke, who was staring up at the clouds. "Come on May, cof-fee!" You tried again, holding May up, but she just stared at you. "Sky.." You and Harvey both whipped your heads at your son, who was reaching toward the sky and mumbling."Sky.." Harvey picked Luke up with a wide smile. "Luke! Your first word! Do you like the sky?" "Sky!" Harvey laughed out loud. You watched the scene smiling, "You hear that, May? Luke said his first word.." "Lu..ke?" May asked in a small voice.
