Chronicles of Jackal Squad

Chapter 2

         Thankfully,  they didn't need to make conversation for another 2 hours at least Copper didn't Dagger was just quiet, once he gave Tiller a look that said I'll break your legs if you come any closer idiot. The team was taken to the briefing room and instructed to sit down. Dagger was to Copper's right and Ember to his left. Tiller was the farthest away from him. General Alrign Zey or Zey as he liked to be called in private was standing in front of a holocron. His padawan Jusik showed a lot of interest in the commandos. Copper used his helmet link to see that Tiller was looking at the window outside, to the buildings. Ember's attention was on Zey so was Dagger's Copper was taught to be vigilant to his surroundings and he was, he kept scanning the grey walls, every movement of his squad and the flicker of movement outside the room. Finally, General Zey talked 

"Jackal squad, you will be sent to the mountains of Cheboria where you are to track down and capture a Rena Tevon, a Iktotchi that works for the seperatists as a trader, she gets the CIS their weaponry and some of their heavy duty equipment. Is your objective clear?" 

Copper and the rest of the squad nodded "How long do we have for dry runs and planning?" Copper asked.

 Zey hesitated then said "Six standard hours that's how long it'll take you to get to Cheboria" He said apologetically "you'll be leaving now" fierfek, Copper didn't have time to see what his squad members need work in and what they're good at. He would just have to take their word that they could do their job.

Jackal squad was loaded into a LAAT, Copper was the first to jump in then came Dagger, then Ember, and finally Tiller, who he hoisted in.  When they were all loaded up into the seats and he turned to address the group of glowing blue t-shaped visors. "First thing's first I want to welcome all you to Jackal squad, now in this squad I know we have some Skirata and Bralor babies but we're mainly a Vau team, that means if you don't meet my expectations I'll kick all of your shebs all the way to the outer rim no hyper space needed. So try to keep up with me and Dagger I know it'll be hard but we are warriors of the Republic, commandos so I expect the best from you is that understood?"

"We were trained not to disappoint sir" Tiller said. 

Even with his mask on Copper could tell that Dagger was biting back a comment that even for him would be pretty low. 

"Don't worry sir, we might not have been trained by Vau but we're still commandos, we can keep up" Ember declared. Copper nodded, are commandos good soldiers, he could see that these boys have some extra merit, or it's just luck. Either way they were assigned to him.

The hatch door opened and the chilly night sky and mountains could be viewed. "What a view" Tiller said in a little awe. The mountains looked like a pair of Sand sharks digging their way into the snow of Cheboria combined with the aurora borealis really did make quite a view.

"Shame we might have to blow some of that up" Dagger remarked. He finished fiddling with his dc-17m blaster rifle and clipped it to his belt.

"Alright Jackals prepare for drop" The voice over the comms said, it was go time.
