I walked down the empty street, switching my backpack to my left shoulder. The moon was going down faster than I thought. I must do this fast.

I hissed as my leg continued to ache but I forced myself to run until I was out of the town completely, reaching to one singular road that is used to get to the other town up North. People here call it Heaven's road because it's always sunny whenever you drive down this road and some random person's first sighting of an Angel.

But there's also no trees or anything surrounding the path. Just the sky and valley. I wonder how many times the angels watched us when we made our trips to the other town. We didn't really have a good time there...

Another thing about this path, it also leads to a cemetery. Not many people use it anymore because they created one closer to the town. The town's historical figures were buried here, like the Founders and the Mayors that ran this place...It's also the only place they buried all my friends and my brother.

Real considerate of them.

It should be a safe place for Asmodeus to take his real form.

"Ace stop now." I paused on my path and looked at my head, "This is just idiotic! What do you expect to accomplish from this?!"

"I would be able to see everyone again. No one else would have to deal with my pathetic existence." I continued walking down the road. I pulled off the arm guard, burning the cast in the process.

The demon growled in my head, "THAT'S FUCKING STUPID! Since when did you care about other people's opinions?"

"When they fucking begged the doctors to kill me when I was under going surgery. It's funny how they completely 180 their whole opinion on us. They want me gone? I'll gladly grant them that."

I turned my head a bit to see the outline of the town and my hill getting smaller and smaller. I looked back around to see the metal fence then something glowing right in front of it. Two white wings behind them and a halo over their head.

The head perked up, letting them know I could see them. I instinctively took a step back. Who the hell would be here at this hour...especially at a place like this?

They walked over to me and I narrowed my eyes as I made out Crystal's face. "It's 5 in the morning, Alexa. You're never an early bird."

"So what? I can't visit my brother's grave?"

"I never said that." She lowered her head to try to get to my level but the moment she took another step, I raised my knife. This caused her to halt.

Her eyes were wide, raising up her hand so she would try to reach the knife.

"Alexa, honey....I know you're hurting"

"SHUT UP!" I gritted my teeth, "You know nothing. ALL OF YOU NEED TO STOP PRETENDING TO CARE! YOU AND GOD NEED TO STOP PRETENDING THAT YOU CAN HELP ME!! You and I both know anything you say won't change a damn thing."

I slowly lowered the knife, placing it back in the belt loop. The moment I tried moving forward, the angel held up her arm. She grabbed my shoulder to stop me, "Don't say that. You may think we don't want to help but I do! No child should go through this alone. Just come back to town with me. We'll talk to a few angels and we'll go to our leader. We'll find a safe place for you to stay for the meantime."

I pulled away from her grip, continuing on my path. "Don't even bother. I don't intend on coming back." I halted as I stared at the gates fence. I pulled open the rusted gate to reveal rows and rows of old tombstones.

Cobwebs and stumps scattered all over the place. The tombstones are either rusted or just covered by bird droppings. But the further I went in, there laid 11 freshly made stones. All of them...Nick, Jaimee, Lucifer and his family, Beelzebub and his family, and Simon.

Simon...

Seeing his name alone caused all my scars to ache. The angels were even surprised that I wanted him to have a tombstone, despite everything he's done.

I dropped my backpack in front of my brother's grave. I pulled out one of his small candles he used to collect. I lit the sticks on fire and placed them on the edge of his tombstone. Shining the words on it, "Nick Orona; Loving brother, a friend to all, never doubt his loyalty." I read.

"Ace please. You can do something else better than this!" The demon protested but I pulled out the knife. I looked at the other tombstones.

I wonder if they're watching me right now....they're probably making fun of how I look. Eye bags, stitched up hoodie, bandages...

The blade softly caressed my shoulder until I reached my chest. I could feel the vibration of my heart, beating faster in anticipation. "I lost this battle, Asmodeus. But this way you would have a better chance of getting back to Hell...I'm sorry." I placed the palm of my hand on the base of the knife until two hands pushed both of my arms down.

"DO YOU REALLY THINK KILLING YOURSELF IS THE BEST OPTION?!" Crystal yelled. I tried raising my arms again but she was incredibly strong. This can't happen to me now. "What would your brother think-"

"DON'T FUCKING SAY HIS NAME!" I forced my elbow in the angel's stomach, causing her to fall over. "DON'T SPEAK FOR A DEAD MAN!" I raised the knife over my head until I saw Crystal's frightened face.

I blinked and lowered the knife. It was not her fault. "Please just...just don't say his name. Not now.." I squinted as I saw the sun slowly coming over the hills in the distance. I flinched as I saw a muddied hand reaching out for me, "Let's go home." She quietly said.
