chapter 3.

August 13th , 2010 - Friday

Yewang said today is a scary day, he didn't say why.. hmm, I'll ask daddy when he wakes up. I look over to the clock on my wall, and it read 6:14 am. maybe I should just go back to sleep, I already upset daddy this morning by screaming myself awake. I don't wanna know what he'd do I started asking about a scary day. Maybe I can go to Yewang's house, then I can ask him himself! I decided to get out of bed, but I sat at my desk instead of leaving. I don't want anyone to know I'm awake already. I wasted no time in getting my colored pencils out, along with some paper, and crayons too this time. I will make a masterpiece!
I grabbed a dark blue crayon, and filled the whole top half of the paper with the color. I then grabbed a black crayon, and did the same to the bottom half. I may have ran the two crayons over my white desk, but it's been colored on too many times already for me to care. I found out from Yewang that if you use a white pen on crayon, or pencil, you can mimic rain, so I tried it out, and it worked! My first picture of the day is complete! And it's 6:57 am! Daddy should get up any time now!

Creak

As soon as I heard my parents door creak open, I got up and ran to open mine. Luckily, it was daddy who was up. "Oh! You're up early, did you sleep well?" He asked, picking me up off the ground, and into his arms. "I sleep okay.. Are you going to work today?"
I asked him. "I have Fridays off, remember? And I meant what I said yesterday, about the paper. If you wanna come with me to the store, you can pick some out. Colored paper even, whatever you'd like!" "Really?"
I asked him, just to make sure, and he nodded. "Yaaay! Can you take me to Seo's house? I wanna play with Yewang!" I started nagging him a bit, but I didn't care. "Well, I guess if it's okay with the Seo's, then I can take you over. How about this: I make you breakfast, we go to the store, and when we get back home I can give them a call. Does that sound good?"
I nodded in agreement, and he took me to my room to help me get dressed for the day.

"How about this one? See, there's yellow, and blue.. Oh and pink too!"
Daddy has been finding all types of papers, he even found one with all colors of the rainbow! Well, most of the colors. There hasn't been a single pack that has dark blue paper!
"There's no dark blue!" I said as I tried to put the packs back on the shelf, but I inevitably realized I was too short to do it myself. "This is dark blue, see?" He said while pointing to a blue color, that just wasn't dark enough. "No, dark, dark blue. Almost black dark blue!" "So, indigo?" Huh? I heard a voice behind me, and it sounded...
Familiar? It was an older man, about my daddys age, height too. "Here." He handed me a small stack of individual papers that were all different, and very dark shades of blue. "Oh, thank you!" I thanked him, and he walked away without saying anything else.
That was weird...
"Is he a friend, daddy?" "No.." hmmm..
"Well, let's head up to the front. These papers aren't gonna buy themselves!"
I handed daddy the papers, and we went up front to purchase them.

Just like my daddy had promised, he called my friends dads, and scheduled a play date for the afternoon. He just dropped me of that their house, and I was more than eager to get inside.
I just have to find out why today is such a scary day!
