2.Marriage

A year had passed since karna took over the reign of Anga . Before he became the king , his marriage was fixed with vrishali on a particular month and time but he got so busy with working for the betterment of Anga that he asked their families to postpone it by an year . Anga was in a worse condition when he took over and he took it as a challenge and was determined to change its state .

Vrishali was so angry with karna because of postponing their marriage . To rub salt to the wound , her friends were making assumptions that he must be having second thoughts as he was now a king and how much ever beautiful she was , her low status was a problem according to them . He used to visit rarely and even then he used to visit her family and never once had talked to her alone .

During the day vrishali spent her time playing with kids as her friends were no more interested in playing games like her , she had deemed them as boring a long time back . Her mother kept scolding her saying that she was soon to get married but behaving like a child but vrishali paid no heed to her mother's advices . When her mother got too irritating she had to remind her mother of her place , that she was talking to the future queen of Anga .

Karna was content with his work so far , he had brought so many changes in Anga from when he started and now he was ready to bring his love with him . He missed her and was not happy to postpone their marriage but even if he they had got married he would have not had time hence it was not the best time . He decided to fix the marriage time in a few months time and inform his parents of his decision . He had told his ministers about the same that he was going to get married in 2 months , A simple marriage in the temple of Anga . His ministers were happy about the news but they were not happy that their glorious king was settling with a simple marriage but karna tried to make them understand that he wanted it to be a sweet and simple one .

But the knews spread from the servants to the common people of Anga like a wildfire . People loved their generous king , who had brought so many changes in their land and lives and they loved him for that and they were not going to settle for a simple marriage for their king .

Karna was in a meeting when a guard came with a news that a large crowd had gathered outside the palace of Anga . He immediately went out to see . It was much bigger than he had expected and was wondering why so many of them had gathered around like this . Even when they usually came with some grievances it would be much smaller compared to what he was seeing now .

He was suprised when they told him of the reason . They wanted their king to have a grand wedding ceremony in Anga such that everyone could witness . He tried to reason with them but he had to give up his admance to their love which was so much more than what he had expected .

His ministers were on the people's side and they wanted to make it even grander by building an open auditorium that could accommodate the whole of Anga and even invite rulers of other kingdoms to participate in the ceremony , karna was planning for a simple marriage but in the end become an exact opposite of what he had planned . People were excited to see their queen and to witness the marriage of their king . Soon the construction of the huge auditorium began .

Vrishali was over the moon when she saw karna the next time with the news that he was making all the arrangements for their wedding . He even talked to her alone and apologised to her for his earlier behaviour explaining the reason along with affectionate kisses on her forehead and cheeks , for which vrishali could not help but melt . He had also brought a lot of expensive jewellery and even many clothes from which he wanted her to choose for the wedding day .
