Chapter Two The Dance

I see my friends waiting at the entrance. As I walk over they see me and smile. "Hi Vanessa uhh where's chad?" Claire asked. Chad is my boyfriend. He doesnt seem like one because he always cancels our dates at the last minute. I look down sad I can feel a tear roll down my cheek but I quickly swipe it away. "Uhh he canceled again" I reply. My words trail off and then katy changes subject. "Well let's go in there it sounds awesome!" She says happily. I look at them. "You guys go ahead I will be right in" I say looking down. "Ok I'll see you I. There" they say. As they walk inside I look up at the sky still snowing. Tears roll down my cheek as I say to myself. "I wish my boyfriend wasnt such a dick ugh I hate him" I say sadly. I wipe off my running makeup and look at the school doors leading into the dance. I see people laughing in the hallway and some kissing. "Gross" I say gaging. I hear christmas music playing I smile and walk in. I see my friends talking to alyssa. I hate alyssa they just hang around her so they can be popular but shes a total bitch. I walk into the gym and they dj yells "slowdance time! Boys pick any girl you want" All of a sudden my knees get weak and my heart speeds up. I hate slowdancing. I am standing there while have yourself a merry little christmas plays and everyone else has a partner. I stand there alone when all of a sudden someone grabs my hand from behind. I look back at a cute boy about my age looking at me with a grin. "Hi uhh do you want to dance?" He smiles awkwardly and scratches his head. I look at him and say "sure" I mean I was desperate. In the middle of the dance he looks at me and says something that makes me smile. "You know you're very pretty" he gleams and leans in for a kiss. I hesitate and say "sorry I have a boyfriend" he looks down. "Oh ok" he replies. I say I have to go and i give him my number. He smiles at me puts it onto his phone and then walks away. I smile and walk outside and call my dad.
