We reach the hospital and quickly hop out of the car. Both panting we run inside. I look around while my heart is practically beating outside of my chest and I keep thinking of the worst possible thing. He's dead he's dead he's dead. That's all I can think of but I start to regain my hope when a nurse approaches us. "Excuse me?" She says. "Are you Vanessa?"
"Yes! That's me do you know where my dad is?" I reply.
"Of course follow me please." We follow her until she opens a door. Room 318. Both my mom and I stand there for a minute in complete silence we were scared beyond imagination. We didn't know what to expect but we were prepared for the worst. We walk in and both gasp really loud. My mom starts to walk over while I just stand there with wide eyes. I can't believe what I'm seeing. He's laying there with scratches and chunks of skin missing from his face and body. Something you would only see in a nightmare. It was for real this time and I couldn't wake up from it no matter how hard I pinched my arm. My mom starts to cry while I just stand there unable to move. I finally snap out of it when I hear a faint whisper coming from where my dad is laying. "Vanessa?" He croaks. I quickly glance over. I look down at my hands they were shaking out of control. I slowly take a step forward. "Y...y..yh dad I..t..its me" I studder. "Come over here" he squeaks. I pause before slowly shifting my body over as I start walking I decide to lighten the mood. Bad idea. "How.." I say before getting cut off by a loud beeping noise. I soon realize its my dads monitor. I freeze. I stare at my dad as his body starts to shake really fast. He's seizing. In panic my mom screams and faints. I run out of the room fast and start screaming. "HELPPPP!!" I scream. "SOMEONE PLEASE!!" I finally get a doctors attention and he quickly runs into the room with a bunch of nurses following him. They keep yelling back and forth. "Get me a crash cart!" The doctor yells. "She's not breathing!" Screams a nurse. I stand there still as a tree. Watching everyone run around. Unable to move, unable to speak. I get pushed and fall to the ground. I look in horror as they try and fix my broken dad. Just then he stops seizing. Looks strait at me and says. "I love you.." He flat lines. A nurse grabs me and pushes me out of the room. I start to scream and push and cry. Its no use he's gone and its all my fault. She finally gets me to calm down and just as I sit down I fall asleep. I dream about all of the memories I had with my dad. The park, Christmas, Halloween, father daughter dance and all those times that we laughed together. I sit up really quickly and gasp. I look around and see my mom laying beside me. I look into the room where my dad was. There's no sight of him. I get super quick and sprint into the room. I start to cry realizing what happened. My mom walks in without me knowing and puts her hands on my shoulders. "Its OK Vanessa" she says. "He's in a better place now" I don't believe her but it seems like the best option.
