Aziz reached down for me, taking notice of her bare eye sockets. He grabbed me and pulled quickly, the girl flinched as she felt me get ripped away from her hand. Aziz started running, dragging me along. I was still a bit out of it from my head slamming against the ground. He started yelling. “Get those doors open, NOW!”
Brian and Brody pushed hard against the panic bars, but the door wouldn’t budge. Liam was trembling like a leaf as he watched the girl exit the classroom and enter the dark hall, I glanced at her while Aziz continued pulling me through the hall. She was extremely skinny, like she hadn’t eaten for years. Her arms were down to her feet. It seemed as if she was trying to say something to us, as her mouth was moving.
I tried hard to listen, but Aziz was breathing heavily. “…to be Sally’s friend?…” she said, that was all I could hear. Could Sally be her name?
She furrowed her brows and turned her head to the yelling. She started screeching, it almost sounded like crying. She sprinted towards us, her arms sliding across the floor in front of her as she ran.
I grabbed Aziz and shoved my hand over his mouth to shut him up, I then did a shushing motion at the group who was panicking. Everyone froze and trembled quietly. Sally ran down the hall, then slowly stopped when she heard silence. She felt around the ground and slowly advanced forward, the group slowly backed up to the rusty front doors. Out of nowhere, a loud slam came from the door, it was the group outside trying to break the door down.
Sally heard the banging and covered her ears, once the noise stopped, she took her hands off of her ears and started sprinting over to the door, she had started screaming again. The group scattered, Liam and Aziz ran left, Devin and Chris ran towards Sall and quickly hid in a classroom, and Brody and Brian ran Left. I froze for a moment, my fear had gotten to me.
She got closer, and closer. Then, out of nowhere, a brick flew through the window.
I snapped back to reality and ran to the left, I looked out the window and saw the group was still trying to get in, that’s where the brick came from. I rushed down the hall, broken glass crunching under my shoes, Sally gaining on me. I saw an open door and I quickly ran in and hid behind the wall, Sally sprinted past. I gasped for air once I didn’t hear any noise from the hall, I slid down the wall and stared at my hands while panting.
I was trembling, how did I let this happen? Who was that girl, a ghost? What was she saying to us before? So many thoughts were running through my head, I started to tear up.
“Ash! Are you okay? I’m so glad you escaped that thing!” I looked up quickly, it was Brian and Brody! They had hidden inside of a large closet in the classroom, once they heard me gasp, they decided to peek out. I look up from my hands and look at them, tears running down my face. “I’m so glad you guys are okay, I’m so sorry, this is all my fault.” I start to sob, I cover my face with my hands to stay quiet. Brody walks over and places his hand on my shoulder, Brian crouches down next to me. “Ash, listen.
It doesn’t matter whose fault it is, what matters is how we are going to get out of here. That girl had no eyes, and based on how she reacted to the group banging on the door, she’s got good hearing. But that can be used against her.”I take a deep breath and calm down a little, I wipe my face. “You’re right, we need to get out of here.” I stand up and peek out the door. “I’ll go see what’s wrong with the door, I’ll come back after I find something that could help us.” Brody seems to dislike this idea greatly. “No way, you could get caught!” He says angrily, Brian covers Brody’s mouth so that he isn’t loud, Brian then looks at me and nods.
“Hurry back, and stay quiet. Please.” I return the gesture and look back to the classroom door, I peek out once more, then sneak back to the main doors.
