His body still, red and blue lights flashing, a man calling out to me, I’m yelling at Mitchel to wake up, but his body still. I feel something put on my neck, then someone dragging me out while glass cuts my arms and legs. Mitchel is still motionless, someone then pulls him out of the car, and puts a white sheet over his body. My breath stops at the sight.
When I got out of the ambulance, doctors are taking my blood pressure, my dad giving them my medical history, my sister and brother crying behind them, and a doctor shining a light in my eyes. I was pulled into an operating room then my memory goes blank.
I hear a familiar beeping sound, beep…beep…beep… My eyes are once again heavy, but I manage to open them. This time Mitchel wasn’t holding my hand sleeping, I was alone in a bright white room. Three different doctors walked in, following them were my parents and siblings. My dad looked like he hadn’t slept in days and my mother looked like her usual messy hair with a sharp black eyeliner wing, and my sibilings still had their school bags on their backs. One of the doctors had blonde hair that hid behind her ear, another had blue scrubs on and he had a large coffee in his hand, the last doctor was Doctor March she looked the same as last time but this time she had her hair in braids. “This is Della Kimberling, she was in manger car accident she is the only suriver of 4 passangers, she has a histroy of heart problems.” I glared at him, midway through his little examination. Then I relised that he said I was the only suriver of the accident.
The up high, everyone singing, laughing, alive. Mitchel was driving, he had a blue and gray hoodie on, with blue jeans, Kayla, a girl I met at the movie theater who needed a ride, she had on a sparkly silver dress with matching high heels. And Jeremy had his baseball cap on with his jersey. We were happy in the moment, nothing didn’t matter when we were on the highway heading to a Pizza World. Then a bright light came out of nowhere, everyone screaming at Mitchel to turn, to do something. Then my hair rose, Mitchel’s arm reaching across my chest. Bam. The car hit the paved road then rolled and rolled and rolled. When it stopped the car was up right, I opened my eyes when the flashing light came on, I tried to move my neck but it was too stiff to move so I moved my eye. I saw Mitchel faceing me, his eyes closed , his body frozen. Kayla is in the middle of us, her head bloody, her bent. I can’t see Jermey but he doesn’t say anything when I call his name.“Della! Della! There you are, we lost you there for a minute, so do you understand the risk of the surgery.” The pretty blonde doctor asked me. I looked at her because I didn’t hear anything about the surgery, I could only think about how I lost my boyfriend and freind. “Dell, you have to know that we did everything we could to save your legs, but you can learn how to walk with prosteice.” The same pretty blonde doctor said as I nodded my head. Wait, I lost my legs too.
