Author's Note: Are you ready? Let's go.
Hiro's POV
"OK, Hiro, are you ready for your driver's exam?" Aunt Cas called from the kitchen.
"Yep, just give me a second."
I checked my reflection in the bathroom mirror and ran through my list.
Dark, messy hair, check.
Deep brown eyes, check.
Favorite red tee and jeans, check.
Cocky stride...check.
Half smile, double check.
Jacket...oops.There we go, check.
We can't have people knowing our little secret now can we?
I chuckled quietly in a dark manner. As if anyone would care. Aunt Cas sure didn't, even when the signs were clear as a glass pane.
I paced my room. "I'm not going to give up on you." I paused. Tadashi always said that when I got nervous. God, Tadashi...
My seven years older brother had died in a fire at a nerd showcase. It was the reason I wore a jacket all the time, hated talking, and it had pretty much screwed up my life beyond repair. Every time I thought about him, I felt like I was fourteen again. Holding his hat and wondering whether I should follow him. Then the explosion happened, and not one body was found.
I missed Tadashi. A lot.
"Hiro! It's time to go! You're gonna do just fine!" The urgency in her voice saved me from the brunt of the grief.
* time skip thing *
Aunt Cas was making hot wings again. I stared at the two IDs in my lap. One was mine. The other was Tadashi's old one. He looked so happy...
This time, I couldn't help the torrent of sorrows that engulfed me.
You could have stopped this.
It is your fault.
You didn't have to go to that nerd school.
Those microbots were his downfall.
Callaghan is innocent.
His blood is on your hands.
He'd never forgive you, you worthless piece of shit.
