The Hero Of Change

Chapter 1

"C'mon, Kacchan, 1 more round!" Izuku says as he pulls Katsuki to his feet and steps back, causing the blonde to scoff.

"No way in hell, Deku. You and that bullshit quirk of yours are just too strong. What the hell kind of training have you been doing that took you from equaling me to making it so that I struggle to even keep up with you!?" Katsuki asks, genuinely perplexed.

Izuku laughs. "Well, I've been keeping it a secret, but I've been doing Martial Arts training, recently. I made a new friend, and, as it turns out, her dad owns and operates a Karate dojo, so he offered to teach me, free of charge!"

Katsuki's jaw drops. "Holy shit! Anyway I can get in on that? Been looking into learning some Martial Arts for whenever I'm in a situation where using my quirk is either dangerous or impossible, but all of the reputable dojos in a reasonable distance are overpriced as hell. We've still got 10 months until the entrance exams, that's plenty of time!"

Izuku shrugs. "No harm in asking. And hey, maybe you'll hit it off with Kendo and finally make another friend aside from me!"

For that remark, Katsuki punches him.

Izuku, Katsuki, and Itsuka all stare up at UA's gates, determined expressions on their faces.

"You two ready?" Izuku asks.

Katsuki scoffs. "As if I wouldn't be."

Itsuka grins. "Precisely."

Izuku laughs. "Let's do this."

The written exam was a breeze, all three of them being natural born geniuses in terms of intelligence as well as fighting, and always studying as hard as they can when not training their bodies/quirks, doing schoolwork, or taking some time off to enjoy themselves. The fun part(read: physical exam), however, was more difficult.

Izuku bursts through the gates as soon as they open, leaving a crowd of perplexed test-takers behind him.

"What's he doing?"

"Present Mic hasn't said Go yet, he's gonna get disqualified."

"Well, that's one less-"

"WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!? GO! GO! GO! THERE'S NO COUNTDOWNS IN REAL LIFE! THAT GUY HAS THE RIGHT IDEA!" Present Mic's voice booms over the speaker system, shocking the test-takers and causing them to rush for the gates almost as if in a panic.

Izuku taps a wall of a random building, causing a steel katana to pop out of it and into his hand, before he proceeds to use it to behead a 2-pointer. He then proceeds to turn the destroyed 2-pointer into a bomb and throw it at a group of one pointers, destroying them with its explosion.

"That's 56." Izuku says, turning his katana into a spear and stabbing it through the head of a 3-pointer that came up behind him. "59, actually."

Izuku then notices 2 3-pointers approaching a pink-skinned girl from behind and runs in to help her, turning his spear into a claymore and cleaving through both, the sound causing her to turn around with her eyes wide. Izuku just nods at her and reverts his claymore to a spear and throws it at another 3-pointer that was about to attack an unaware test-taker.

"That kid's pretty good with that quirk of his." Midnight says, gesturing to the screen showing Izuku.

"Yeah, why doesn't he just transform the robots in the first place rather than destroying them and then transforming them, though?" Present Mic asks, confused.

"There are 3 possible answers to that, Hizashi." Nezu says. "1: he's being cautious and ensuring that they don't attack him when he goes to do it."

"2: he's being logical about it. He doesn't know how we count the points that each examinee receives. For all he knows, the act of destroying the bot itself causes the point to be counted via the bot sending a signal when it's destroyed as well as an image of the examinee who destroyed it, captured by one of the many cameras on the bot."

"Precisely. And 3:-"

"He's having fun and thinks that that would be boring." All Might interjects.

Nezu nods. "Exactly. I myself am leaning on option 4: it's a combination of all 3."

All Might chuckles. "Agreed."

Nezu then turns his attention to a big red button on the wall. "I do wonder, however, how he'll react to this."

Izuku's eyes widen as he stares up at the gargantuan form of the 0-Pointer.

"That's a bit overkill for a mere 'Obstacle', wouldn't you say!?" He says sarcastically, before his eyes catch something worrying, there's a girl trapped under rubble, and she's right in the 0-Pointed's path!

Thinking fast, Izuku dashes over and turns the rock that was pinning the girl into water, he then notices a shadow covering him, and looks up to see the massive foot of the 0-Pointer. He crouches and slams his hands into the ground causing steel spikes to shoot out of it, skewering the foot and stopping it before it could crush Izuku and the girl. With a grunt of effort, he causes the spikes to elongate, knocking the robot off balance and sending it falling backwards, where even more spikes await it.

"AND TIME!" Present Mic yells over the speaker system.
