How long would you say it takes to an Original to wake up after you pull out of him the dagger, which keeps him in a nap until you actually pull it out? Well, I can assure you it's not a short period of time.

---------☀️---------

"How much longer?" I asked Elena, seated next to her in a basement and leaned against the wall. I played with the dagger we had pulled from Elijah. We had done it to protect everyone. We had figured that the only one who could actually help us was him.

"I don't know," she replied as annoyed as me. Maybe he wasn't going to wake up and he was gonna stay like that for the eternity. All grey and veiny.

Suddenly, without me or El expecting it, he gasped, wide opened his eyes and arched in his back as if he had a spasm. Elena got up and rushed over to him. I joined her a little while after. The horror in Elijah's eyes when he saw Elena was unexpected. Though soon we understood. He thought she was Katherine. And I didn't help it. Then it was like if he fainted. But it was only for a few seconds before that spasm or whatever took over him. It also looked like some kind of electric shock. His bones were cracking and then when it stopped, he stayed in that one position on his right side. It seemed he was dead until he got up in flash speed gasping for air, "I can't breathe." I looked at Elena freaked out hoping she had a clue of whatever was happening, but she looked as she was hoping to find that from me.

"What's happening?" Elijah spoke again and it finally came to my mind. "You're not invited in," I whispered and Elijah looked at me. "Get me out of here," he ordered. Though he really didn't need mine, neither Elena's help, because he managed to get out himself.

"What happened?" he asked when he was outside and could breathe again. Elena shushed him so Damon and Stefan couldn't hear us.

"Can we trust you?" Elena whispered.

"Can I trust you?" Elijah asked as quietly as possible the same question. Me and Elena exchanged looks and nodded at each other. I handed him the dagger to prove we weren't going to pull anything.

"You look better," Elena said to Elijah after he had drunk another blood back.

"Where did you get the dagger?" he asked.

"We'll tell you everything. But we have to work together, Elijah. We need your word," she replied.

"Your ability to make demands has long pasts," Elijah answered without even looking at her or me. He was very pissed.

"No demands," I announced, "we're offering you our help. And in return, we want yours." He turned to look at me. I was sitting in the back seat. "And why should I even consider this?" he asked, not showing any interest.

"The same reason that you haven't killed us," I replied bluntly. "You need our help to kill Klaus and we need you." My phone started vibrating before any of us could have said more. I didn't want to ignore it, because if I did, it wouldn't end well. The person who was calling me was Damon. And I was pretty sure that Stefan was there with him too. Not James. He had left in the morning before we had kind of brought Elijah back from the "dead". His boyfriend was about to have a birthday soon and he wanted to make him a huge birthday party. Plus, he couldn't spend all the time with us. Even if he wanted to. Even if he wanted to help us. He couldn't neglect his boyfriend. And he also had a work. I didn't expect he would be back before the ritual. He had his own normal life. And he had to live it. He knew it too and that was making our goodbye so sad. Neither one of us knew if we were ever gonna see each other again.

"Where are you? Are you okay?" Damon blurted out as soon as I put the phone on high volume, so Elena could hear it too. "Have you lost your mind? Where are you? I'm on my way," he didn't let me explain.
