LILA’S POV
I swung by Kate’s place for dinner because I wanted to talk to her. I feel more comfortable talking to her than my mom or any therapist in mumbattan. Therapist makes you feel like your suffering while well my mom is too prim and proper for such conversation……
After dinner I helped Kate’s son to clear the table who by the way has a pretty sense of humor and a name called NIJEL then I helped Kate with the dishes as we joke and laugh with her youngest daughter. Nigel had excused himself to the room, after the dishes I helped Kate tuck in Lucy in then I stepped outside to the balcony with Kate
“So talk to me what happened today” she said turning around and scooting so that I could join her on the balcony swing
Still standing I said “I fired someone today” she looked at me in disbelief and said
“That’s a normal thing especially for you so don’t tell me the whole reason you drove down here was to tell me that you fired someone because I won’t take it” feigning hurt to which she rolled her eyes at causing me to laugh. I went to lean on the balcony railings sighing I turned and said
“ well I just came to skip the family’s dinner because I don’t want my mom to start the preaching of marriage and start comparing me to my sister who’s married ‘
Releasing a quiet “ohm” she said “I can’t tell you to go against your mother but one thing for sure is that make sure to follow your heart and maybe one of these days talk to her about it” Turning to her I said
“You know this is why I like talking to you about things “I said, smiling she said
“Oh shoo away by the way you’re staying the night and can you help me drop Lucy off at school I have an emergency job in the morning”
“Oh sure no probs it’ll be a pleasure doing so”
“Thanks dear okay goodnight this lady here needs her beauty sleep “she said standing up to go inside
Saying goodnight I stayed outside a little before I went inside.
