Maren was a bottle of nerves as she waited patiently for her brother to return home. Ever since he left, Potter Manor had been boring, the only real joy she has was when he wrote home. You know life is boring when the 11-year-old was excited about one of her mother's garden parties. The ones where you had to get up early and bathe with all these soaps so that mother's friends didn't think you were some gross little trolls. Then had to sit for hours out in the heat even in the winter because of the heating charms that would be put out.
Nothing excited the girl more than the return of her brother; the two Potters had always been close but not that similar. James was rambunctious and cocky, a trait that Sirius Black must also prosses because her brother says they're two of a kind. He had gotten that from her father, who was also known to be a troublemaker, it must run in the blood. Whereas Maren was content with quiet and was probably only born in hopes of calming down James. These were traits of her mother and the Fawley side, they had to have been because their cousin Alister Potter who lived in America was also a nut case, that's probably because his mother is a part of the Black family.
Maren saw her brother running towards her in a bolt of black light, before she could even prosses what was happening to her she was swept off the ground. "Mare!" Her brother yelled in her ear causing her to wince.
"I've missed your ugly little face, Mare!"
"I haven't missed you, Jimbo." She mumbled into his ear.
"Lies I still have all the letters where you complained about the lack of loud noises in the house and the lack of me getting screamed at. I never forget." He chuckled against her shoulder, still tightly holding onto her. There was the sound of someone clearing their throats making both Potter children lift their heads. Behind James were three boys, a tall one with sandy blond hair and scars covering his face. Next to him was a shorter boy that was plump with blond hair and tan skin. And lastly, there was Sirius Black, she knew that everyone could tell a Black apart from the crowds. He had shoulder-length black hair and a haunting face. It was clear he was a descendent of Phineus Black, they looked identical from all the inbreeding.
"Oh, you lot I forgot about you, yes well this is my sister who I told you about she's Maren, Maren these are Remus the tall one, Peter the fat one-" Maren elbowed him in the side hard for that, "and the last one and ugly one is Sirius Black." Remus and Peter gave her shy waves, while Sirius confidently waltzed up to her.
"Ah, la plus belle Maren," he said kissing the inner part of her wrist. Maren could feel her face heat up as her brother gawked at his friend.
"Aye off my sister's dog!" James swatted the boy's head.
"Oh, taisez-vous les idiots," Maren scolded slightly, hoping she didn't mess up her French. "Hello, boys." She addressed Remus and Peter causing both boys to flush. She guessed that was proof of what James had written, none of the boys can interact well with the opposite sex.
Remus cleared his throat and scratched the back of his head, "Um it's nice to meet ya, but I've got to go. Bye James, Sirius, Pete." with that, the boy turned away and went off in search of his parents. "Me too, bye mates, Mate's sister," Peter said weakly, his face was unnaturally red.
"Um ok." Maren whispered, "Where are your parents Sirius?"
"Not here I'm going home with you two until my uncle's wedding in July." He said looking down at the ground.
"Oh," Maren said sadly, the idea of not even greeting your own child when they were gone for almost a whole year disgusted her, "Mummy is out with the muggle, so let's go, boys."
