CHAPTER SEVEN: CASTLE
TIARA'S POV
I've never been in a room full of intimidating men. They were that to me when I first met them, but now that they seem to be angry, though their anger is not directed at me, it feels more daunting than before. One of them isn't even here.
"Should I just go into hiding?" Though with that coming from me, I can feel every fiber of my being trying to reject the idea.
All eyes went to me, and it took everything I had to keep the expression on my face neutral without showing how their presence affects me. As if knowing what I was thinking, Domino's gaze gentled on me. He pulled a chair for me, and I sat without a word.
"We could do that if that's what you want," Pierce answered. "But it's not something that is feasible in a long-term situation. Just like you said before, you have commitments. You can try to reschedule or cancel some of them, but it's not something you can do for a long time without it having an impact on your career. That's why we have risk mitigation."
He's right. I can delay some of my scheduled commitments, but it's not like I can do it for long without ruining my career. Kahit pa na mag-release kami ng statement tungkol sa sitwasyon ko ay hindi iyon magiging sapat nang pangmatagalan.
"Subsequent to all of these, we will need initial information for you so we can have a bit of understanding regarding your case." Nag-angat ng tingin si Thorn mula sa binabasa. "With situations involving well-known people, we can't really disregard the possibility that this is an act of obsession from a crazed supporter. But there are things that really clash with that, the first one being the plane crash."
"We will also interview possible witnesses from all the incidents. Which we already started to do even before today," Gun stated. "We already secured potential evidence, especially the gunman's mobile device, and we're highly hoping that we can retrieve more essential data than the one we acquired from the crash."
As if on cue, a man who looks dishevelled but is also equally handsome as his other brothers, who I remembered was named Axel, entered the meeting room. Bukod sa laptop niya ay marami rin siyang dala na mga papel at folder. Pinatong niya sa lamesa ang mga dala niya bago pabagsak na umupo.
Domino opened his mouth as if to ask his brother a question, but Axel just raised a hand and grabbed a bottle of water.
We all watched as he pulled out a bag of M&M from his hoodie's pocket and popped some in his mouth. When he realized that we were looking at him, he chewed slower. "What? I was hungry." Tinuro niya ang mga dala niya. "I just ran all over the building for this."
Gun sighed before turning to me again. "As I was saying, we'll see what we can get, and then we will proceed to the other important things we need to consider. As part of the risk assessment, we will interview all the people that are connected to you, including those that you work with. Simultaneously, we will ensure your security, evaluate potential threats, and analyze your digital vulnerabilities."
