October 31, 1996

“What do you think he wants?” Rodolphus asked Bellatrix.

“I have no idea,” Bellatrix answered as she nervously waited for Voldemort to appear. Narcissa and Lucius had other things to do today, so they were all alone in the manor.

“It has come to my attention that Bellatrix will be giving birth soon,” Voldemort’s voice said from behind them. They both spun around and bowed to Voldemort.

“Yes I am,” Bellatrix said. “I feel the baby kicking all the time.” she looked in Voldemort’s eyes. She couldn’t see any emotion in them at all.

“Yes well that means I will be loosing two of my very best Death Eaters,” Voldemort praised. “For a while that is. But while you two are away I am offering you a safe home I have in Ireland.

“It should serve to protect you two and the baby for a while,” he continued on. “After you have had some alone time with being new parents you shall come back and resume staying with your sister and brother-in-law.”

Was that an order or an offer? Bellatrix wondered.

“That sounds like a wonderful offer My Lord,” Rodolphus said. “We gladly accept it with gratitude.”

“Yes My Lord it is a wonderful offer,” she smiled. She felt like he was doing this for other reasons.

“And to make it even better,” Voldemort said. “You three will all be alone with the baby. Nobody will be able to bother you when you are there. And when you feel like coming back then you shall.”

“Thank you so much,” Bellatrix gushed. The idea repulsed her, but she acted as if she was in love with the idea.

In fact she was in love with the idea of not having to return back to the Dark Lord letting her leave and not return until she was ready.

“I must be going now,” Voldemort said. “But I shall show you both too the house soon.” Voldemort left and Bellatrix and Rodolphus looked at each other.

“Don’t you think this is magnificent?” Rodolphus asked Bellatrix.

“Yes I do,” Bellatrix said.

“Your eyes say different,” Rodolphus replied, looking into her eyes. “I have a few things I have to do I’ll see you when I get back.” he kissed Bellatrix and Disapparated.

The second Rodolphus was gone, Bellatrix Disapparated as well. Although they had to separate destinations in mind.

Bellatrix Apparated on the door step of the House of Black. With her traveling cloak wrapped around her and her hood pulled up, Bellatrix entered the house quickly slamming the door behind her.

Sirius came upstairs just as Bellatrix pulled off her hood and traveling cloak.

“Wow,” he said. “You sure are getting big.”

“Watch it!” Bellatrix snapped.

“Okay,” Sirius said, backing off.

“Where is Dumbledore?” Bellatrix asked.

“He’s upstairs,” Sirius replied quickly, afraid of getting snapped at again.

Bellatrix nodded her head and headed upstairs. She had only stepped on the fourth step when she felt a sharp pain in her stomach. She cringed and grabbed at it so quickly if you had blinked you would have missed it.

“What’s wrong?” Sirius asked as he hurried to Bellatrix’ side.

“The baby kicked I think,” Bellatrix answered.
