No one had seen it coming.
Especially not the ones affected the most by it.
The Broflovski parents had been in a car accident returning home from going out of town to see relatives.
Unfortunately, neither survived.
At least their kids had been at home, unharmed but left to grieve.
The twins, separated-at-birth and reunited-as-teens, Kyle and Kylie.
And the youngest one, Ike.
Late at night, police come knocking at the door.
The three siblings had been waiting downstairs since their parents were never home late and they were getting worried.
Kylie answered the door, and she just knew. She remembered Kendra's deaths but nobody else did and no way would the police come to see anything about her girlfriend.
Her parents, on the other hand....
The reactions weren't good, of course not.
Devastation struck the three of them hard.
Kylie called Kendra and asked her to come over to stay the night, and to bring Karen over for Ike.
The McCormick cousin could always tell when something was up, and hurried over with the young brunette.
Kylie answered the door once again, looking worse for wear with tear marks still visible on her cheeks.
She quickly had the two brought inside. "Ike is up in his room, Karen. He needs some cheering up right now."
The youngest McCormick could tell something was wrong, but she chose not to ask and just gave Kylie a quick hug before heading upstairs.
"Kylie, what happened?" Kendra asked gently.
The redhead shrugged. "Other than the fact I'm now technically orphaned? Nothing much."
The blonde figured it out fairly quickly. "Oh shit.....come 'ere, sweetie."
Kylie cried as Kendra held her for dear life and cursed whoever was out there that decided to leave her favorite redhead with so many problems in her life.
...........
Kyle had mostly cried into his pillow afterwards.
Eventually anger and sadness gave way to exhaustion, but he definitely wouldn't be falling asleep alone.
That's why he texted his loyal boyfriends Stan and Kenny to come over as soon as possible.
Kenny texted back: 'Does this have something to do with Kendra and Karen leaving like your house is on fire?'
Kyle replied: 'Definitely, the house is fine though but please come over'
Stan finally messaged back: 'Be right over, Kyle. Hang in there'
For whatever reason, both of them decided to sneak in through the window.
Kyle was amused either way.
"There is the front door, you know," he pointed out after opening the window.
"Well Kendra said to climb through the window because Kylie fell asleep on the couch," Kenny replied.
Stan sighed. "She said to get through your window and she already knows we can because your sister ratted us out."
Kyle rolled his eyes. "Of course...."
"What's up? If the house is still standing then something else has happened," Kenny said, filled with concern.
The redhead tried to stay composed long enough to talk. "Accident....my....my parents....dead...."
He couldn't take it anymore, tears streaming down his face as sobs wracked his body.
It wasn't hard to decipher what he had said to find the true meaning.
Stan and Kenny were instantly there to provide cuddles and comfort.
There were some very hard days ahead.
Kendra dozed off beside Kylie on the couch and hoped for good things.
