Zoro had gone back to work after that weekend but he just could not help but keep thinking about Sanji. Like how is he so charming? So kind? So sophisticated? Zoro's job for the day was to patrol in a town, coincidentally, the town he went for his haircut. It was said that there was a case of theft and robbery so they had to check it out. Zoro and his two officer buddies, Johnny and Yosaku, were just walking around the town, keeping a lookout of any suspicious activity or person. Zoro walked forward just staying on guard, whereas Johnny and Yosaku shared some snacks behind him.
"Hey, Cap?" Yosaku tried to get Zoro's attention.
"Yeah?" Zoro answered, not looking back to speak to them as he wanted to stay vigilant.
"How long do we have to do this for?" Johnny asked.
"Dunno. Till we solve the issue or during night time." Zoro remarked.
"What? That's like... another six hours!" Yosaku whined.
"It's our job, we've got no choice." Zoro said sternly. Then, both Johnny and Yosaku grew quiet in disappointment.
A few minutes later, the three of them passed by Sanji's beauty salon. Zoro could not help but to stare at him from outside the glass door. His two officer buddies were curious as to what was Zoro looking at, as a matter of fact, it was not "what" but "who".
"Uh... Cap?" Johnny called out to Zoro.
"What?" Zoro hissed.
"Whatcha lookin at?" He asked.
"Nothing. Let's keep patrolling." Zoro avoided the question.
"Alright then." Yosaku said and they both continued behind Zoro.
After another round of them just walking around and patrolling, the three police officers decided to sit at a coffee shop to rest for a while before continuing. They found a seat and rested. Zoro then stood up and excused himself.
"Here, have some coffee or something, we'll continue after I come back. I have to go see someone." Zoro said as he placed one thousand berries on the table for his two officer buddies to treat themselves. "Spend wisely." Zoro left the coffee shop, leaving Johnny and Yosaku confused but delighted at the same time.
Zoro walked to the beauty salon in his police uniform and naturally entered it.
"Wel- oh... it's you! Zoro? Is it?" Sanji tried to play dumb by pretending to try to remember his name.
"Yeah. Hi. How is it going?" Zoro had a slight tint on his cheek.
"It's good! Business is going smoothly! Basically, everything is as per usual." Sanji smiled.
Zoro missed that smile of his, it was very contagious that Zoro did not realise that he was smiling as well.
"What brings you here?" Sanji asked as he looked Zoro up and down, as if checking him out.
"Oh, just patrolling the area. There have been a few reports on theft and robbery in this town since last week. I decided to put my current case on hold to investigate this one since I already have someone helping out on that one." Zoro explained.
"I see... I do recall having some ladies coming in here ranting about it and gossiping about it." Sanji said.
"Really? Well then, that proves the reports." Zoro chuckled a little.
"Yeah." Sanji agreed.
As they took about another ten minutes to chat a little more, Sanji caught a glimpse of a suspicious person bolting past the salon through the glass.
"Hey Zoro? I think I saw the person you're looking for..." Sanji quickly said
"What?!" Zoro turned around and ran out of the salon.
"Wait- Wait for me!" Sanji quickly took out his apron, threw it on the floor and ran after him.
Sanji was surprisingly fast to Zoro, it was like his legs bounces off the ground as he ran. Sanji easily took over Zoro. He leaped up like a gazelle and pounced on the thief or robber or whatever the criminal preferred, like a tiger.
"Get down! You shitty thief." Sanji put his entire weight on the criminal.
"Wow. That was pretty cool." Zoro said quietly as Sanji let him cuff the criminal up.
"And thanks, hehe... I owe you one." Zoro said as both him and Sanji got up from the ground.
"Ah it's nothing, happy to help." Sanji humbly said.
"Don't be so modest. Let me treat you to something someday. Please." Zoro insisted.
"Okay okay. I'll text you when I'm free... I've got it saved in the salon's computer so I'll find it. Now, go back to the station. This rascal needs some teaching." Sanji said.
"Well, okay then. I'll get going now. I guess I'll see you soon?" Zoro looked at Sanji as if he did not want to leave.
"Yup. We'll see each other soon. And maybe the next time it could be... you know, like a date." Sanji winked and quickly jogged back to his salon. He took a look back and waved at Zoro and turned back and left.
Zoro stood there, still processing what he had said.
"A date. He said a date, officer." The criminal said, who was third-wheeling the whole time.
"Shut up." Zoro dragged him and stormed back to the coffee shop where Johnny and Yosaku were.
"Let's go, meatheads. We caught him." Zoro said as he called them out and prepared to leave.
"A date, he says...?" Zoro whispered under his breath.
