A night on the ice

The polar bear father had awoken from his sleep by his baby son repeatedly nudging at his face with his nose. Yawning loudly the father got up and looked at his child, who appeared to be interestingly active for this time of night. It was late but the father was not against going out and doing something fun with his child, so the two polar bears left their cave and wandered into the cold Arctic night. Walking through the snowy ground the father decided for them to head out onto the ice and look for some excitement. As the two polar bears walked across the ice the child was slipping around every few seconds. The father watched his kid constantly attempting to stay steady then picked him up and placed him onto his back. Once on his back the kid wrapped his arms around the back of his father's head to stay onboard. Walking further out onto the sea of ice the two polar bears could see the figures of other polar bears in the distance. Curious to see what activity the polar bears were engaging in over there the father and his son made their way to it. Upon arriving in the area the father saw a mother polar bear sitting around a big hole in the ice with her nudging her two kids on two separate small chunks of ice which were floating around on the water. Seeing the other kids playing on the ice chunks the father's son squirmed around his father's back excitedly. Taking the hint the father walked to the ice hole and placed his son on a spare ice chunk and let him float around with the other two polar bear children. The father sat down and locked eyes for a moment with the mother polar bear, who was a small distance away around the circular hole in the ice, then sat down to watch his son play. The three polar bear children floated around the water on their ice chunks but were barely moving which didn't look very exciting for them. Having an idea to make things more fun for the children the father stuck his front paw into the ice cold water and started making big strokes in it thus creating a current strong enough to push the kids ice chunks and gently move them around in a whirlpool like motion. The children looked happy and were having much more fun floating around in the moving water. The mother polar bear saw the father polar bear making his and her children happy so she placed something on a spare ice chunk she had near her and let it float its way to the other side of the pool. The father polar bear noticed the object that had made its way to him and he picked it up and looked at it to see that it was a nice, fresh bottle of Coca Cola. He looked at the mother polar bear thankfully and took a small drink from it. When he pulled the bottle away from his mouth he saw the mother polar bear had come to sit beside him with her own bottle of Coca Cola in her paw and took a drink from it. Sitting together each with a bottle of Coca Cola in their paws they both watched as their happy children had fun on the ice.
