The dark

New kid

I sat on the murmuring bus with my best friend.
"Sup bro. Today is going to be interesting. New kid." Leo winced at the sound and gave me a look of disgust.
Every time people r new chaos erupts.
Allow me to explain.
A new kid joined the school, year 10 well kind off, he was tall very handsome with dark brown hair he flicks to the side, light blue dreamy eyes and very muscular, well we r getting of the point.
He came into school just like any normal person would.
But there was something off he looked older than he was.
Luckily he wasn't in my class but he wasn't what he seamed he was an older man looking for murder.
As soon as the class started he liked the doors behind him which was unusual.
He drew the blinds to stop the "glare" on the board.
Then the lights went out.
Everyone in the class died except for the man.
He survived while all the others died just trying to get through the class.
That is why we don't like new kids.
To be frank no one does.

I got into class and sat down next to a boy called Matthew.
"Hi um hows ur day going?" He asked glancing at me then quickly looking away.
I ignored him and opened my book to write the date on the board.
"Hello class today i want to welcome someone very special please welcome our new student Ali"
My heart dropped like a bomb like it was going to explode at any moment.
The new kid was joining our class.
I looked over at Leo who also looked at me nervously.
The girl entered the class.
She looked normal- our age, brown hair in a wolf cut, glasses and a septum nose piercing.
Tbh she was very cool.
She took a seat on the other row next to me and started to write in her book.
I think there is finally a normal new kid.
I looked over at her and caught her gaze, i smiled at her.
At first she looked around and looked nervous then she smiled back at me.
A buzz of joy swept over my body and butterflies filled my stomach.
Idk what this feeling was or why i was feeling like it was great.
I blushed slightly then went back to writing in my book.
Time skip 50 min
The bell rang signalling the end of class and i got up to leave.
I shoved my bag on my bag and stepped out the classroom to wait for Leo.
He grudged out and began to walk with me down the hall.
We grabbed lunch but then i felt a hand touch my shoulder.
I turned around and saw the new kid standing in front of me.
"Whatcha getting?"she asked with a smile on her face.
I met her eyes and my belly did that thing again.
"Oh um just a sandwich heh" i said awkwardly blushing.
She looked away and i saw a tint of red on her cheeks.
At least im nit the only one.
I looked at Leo who was standing as still as a statue with a concerned look on his face.
I nudged him and gestured to the girl to walk with us.
As i did Leo turned to look at me stern in the eyes.
"Whats wrong why u acting so weird"
He glared at me and pointed at the girl.
"Her. We cant trust her idk why u r, yk what happened last time a new kid joined so why should we trust her more than the others u could end up being murdered or worse in the dark"
I looked at him horrified.
Why the heck would he think this, she is normal he saw her in class.
"Why in the actual name of god would u even say that. She.."
A cough distracted me.
"Sorry um im a they/them u can carry on now ig heh"
I looked at her and nodded.
"They haven't done anything just cos 1 person messed up doesn't mean they will.  Jesus Christ Leo. Stop clinging onto things that happened in the past. Ur just jealous i have other friends now!"
I finished talking and looked at him fury raging up inside of me.
Tears filled his eyes and an instant regret flooded me.
"I.."
He wiped his nose.
"If u die because of her i wont cry."
Slowly, he turned a tear trickling down his cheek and walked away into the crowd of people getting there lunch.
I turned to look at my new friend the only one i had but they was gone.
I was alone.
