The dark

Darkness

Everyone screamed.
People where running around.
Someone brushed my shoulder and i reached out to grab them and they screamed very load in my ear.
"Its me only me calm down!"
I recognised the scream and as he recognised my voice Leo relaxed and held my hand.
I stood up and groped for the light-switch.
I reached it and flicked the switch hoping for everything to be normal again.
Nothing.
I began to panic and switched it on and off several times before giving up.
My heart beat very fast hammering against my chest hard.
"WHY ISNT IT WORKING ITS A LIGHT FOR GODS SAKE" Leo shouted over the shrieks.
He tried the switch like i did but it was no hope.
Suddenly, everything went quiet.
I turned on the spot.
A massive glowing circle was engraved in the floor almost blinding to look at.
This gave me a chance to look at everyone.
Everyone was still alive.
For now at least.
The white circle in the floor started to dim as something started to emerge.
I looked at Leo who noticed and looked back a tear falling down his cheek.
I gave his hand a squeeze.
He blushed and whipped his face.
A creature was coming out the floor hunched over with massive massive sharp teeth dripping with.. blood.
It hit me.
this was the monster on my book.
My eyes widened but my scream never came it got stuck in my throat.
The monster let out a blood curdling scream.
It leaped from the hole and plunged forward into a boy.
He screamed and yelled as his body was being pulled apart by this thing.
Organs scattered the floor below what once was his body.
The monster turned around with what looked like his head in his mouth.
A loud crunch made me jump as the monster bit down.
I covered my mouth with hand to stop the scream that was about to emerge.
The circle closed slowly and i started to breath heavily and curled up into a ball on the floor head in my legs crying.
The pitch black swallowed us once again and i could no longer see the monster.
It could be any where.
I ran.
Bashed into a wall.
Ran in the other direction but the same thing happened.
We were trapped.
I ran in the direction of the windows.
They were locked but it might mean that we can escape.
Me and Leo bashed the glass and it shattered.
My leg was pulled backwards and over a body.
I yelped as it dragged me across the floor.
I screamed.
It heaved me up of the floor to stare at its face.
Its soulless eyes looked into mine.
No expression was shown as it help me up over its drooling mouth likes with its sharp dagger like teeth.
I could feel its hot breath on my legs.
Slowly, i squeezed my eyes shut so i couldn't see what was about to happen.
But it never came.
Opening one eye i saw luna on its back, a fragment of glass in there hand.
They raised there hand up and shoved the glass in its eye.
It wailed and chucked me onto the floor.
I groaned covered in it blood and stood up.
Luna grabbed my hand and we ran to the window.
We jumped through it into another room which was my old science classroom.
I had an idea.
"Wait i have an idea, light some bunsen burners quick!"
Hastily, i scrambled to the draw and grabbed a bunsen.
I found some matches and rushed to light them.
Screams filled the room next door.
Luna might have blinded it but it was still hungry.
I flicked the match one last time and it lighted.
"Turn the gas on quick, u guys do the same."
Leo flicked on the gas and it illuminated.
I squealed and clapped my hands.
Two other Bunsen's burst into flames.
I grabbed another two and lit them.
The room was glowing brighter the more we lit
5 more Bunsen's.
4 more.
The room was bright with fire.
I ran back into the dark room and grabbed as many people as possible.
Automatically, people piled into the room.
I sprinted back and shut the door behind me blocking it with a wooden board.
Several people were trying the light switches.
It went dead quiet.
Everyone froze.
A loud bash made everyone jump.
It was trying to get in.
it could smell us.
The door rattled on it's hinges.
An arm burst through and groped around for a second before grabbing the door knob and twisted it.
Most people screamed and some froze from shock.
But it didn't come in.
The light was like a protective barrier stopping it from entering.
Then suddenly everyone froze.
Literally, peoples eyes flicked round the room wondering what was going on.
Then suddenly people started falling down.
People were fainting all around.
I fell to the ground along with the rest.
