The elevator ride was too long as the air seemed to grow thicker as Klaus’ hand tightened around her own. As soon as the doors slide open, he drug her behind him into the hallway and briskly walked down the hall. As he reached their room number, he held the key card up to the door and opened it, letting the door open in front of them before finally stepping inside where he released her hand, gesturing her to move forward.

“Explore,” he murmured, his eyes moving to hers. She grimaced beneath his gaze before moving towards the couch and slipping down upon it.

A sigh escaped his parted lips as he moved to kneel in front of her, his voice dropping low as his eyes scanned her timid expression. “I know this isn’t ideal,” he murmured, “But it’s the best for now.”

She rolled her eyes at him before closing them, trying to shut out his face. He took the moment to whisper to his hybrids to watch her before slipping out of the hotel room. As she heard the door shut, she reopened her eyes and stood. She wanted to go home, but she knew if she tried to escape, he would kill her for sure. So, she just wandered around the hotel room before crawling onto the bed. Grabbing a pillow, she pulled it to her chest and closed her eyes.

Hours passed before she finally opened her eyes and realized she had fallen asleep. They flew open and her glare landed up Klaus, draped across the opposite side of the bed, a smirk on his lips as he watched her.

“Well, I see someone made their self at home on the bed, here,” he reached out and ran the pad of his index finger along her jaw. “You had some drool. Were you dreaming about me, Elena?”

His smirk grew upon his lips as he rose from the bed and grabbed the armfuls of bags that were scattered around the floor. Dropping them at the foot of the bed, he waved his hand above them and whispered, “Yours.”

Her brow furrowed as she looked at the bags before she abruptly moved forward and pushed them off the end. “I don’t want them. Thanks.” Rising from the bed, she moved into the bathroom and locked the door behind her. A sad sigh left his lips as he sunk onto the bed. She striped out of her clothing and ran herself a hot bath. Slipping beneath the water, she scrubbed at her body, trying to wash away the entire day.
