That one friend - Carlos Sainz

"...Days after days, month after months, our little love made us follow one another around the world. I spent some weeks in the US, Carlos had his races, but we never missed the opportunity to stay together once. We are inseparable, literally. We immediately found our balance, our routine... he became my comfort."

"Wow. This is a story!! what happened after that day?"

" a lot! Immediately after, Alat his sister's wedding, Blanca, in June of that year , I made some kind of official debut to the (huge) Sainz family. It was my first time and I was petrified. "

"Do you have any favourite memories of that day?"

" The best part of the day was when me and Papa Sainz, Carlos Senior, danced together. He made me feel all the affection and he was very polite and gentle toward my anxiety that day. Nowadays this family is having so much affection and love for me now, even Ana accepted me and now we're close.
By the way, Senior is a nice dancer, very gentleman. "

The crew is silent, so I keep talking:

"I remember clearly being fascinated by the way Carlos' parents danced together at that wedding. The way they look one to another, smile, all after 3 kids, prosperous careers and 31 years together.
How is it possible?
I didn't know at that time if that was what me and Carlos would face somehow someday, but knowing that kind of love raises my man, that example made me hopeful for our future.

Gosh, what a complicated thought!"

"It's ok, don't worry. It's a very thought actually. What's up next?"

"Well, everything you can easily imagine.  It's a mystery for our families and friends what happened in July that year."

"Why?"

"Because myself first didn't expect my "yes" answer to his "I want to marry you. Would you marry me too?" Question while watching a Sardinia sunset cuddled on the deck of our yatch in a moment we create for us while our friends we're in land doing their stuff.
There wasn't a ring, it wasn't completely prepared.
It was maybe the explosion of feelings in a perfect moment like that, but we really did. My family keeps wondering how it was possible for me to be married. Charles was so shocked that he cried when I told him everything."

"So the famous ring in the picture?"

"He bought me that ring once we come back in Italy that summer break and gave it to me after Monza race. "

"Were you ready about everything that happened before that day?"

"What do you mean "

"The picture everyone knows was in all the gossip tabloids and websites"

"Well, I guess that with that picture I did my "fiancé- wag" thing debut
in Singapore. I was simply kissing him under the podium with my hands on Carlos's face... I actually didn't imagine about the possibility to be that picture published or leaked. The ring is quite noticeable so I wonder the fault is its..." I laugh

"When did you get married ?"

"We did it the next  summer.
We married in July, in Sicily. A very private and intimate wedding. Charles took me to the altar, because my father passed away in March when we actually set the wedding date. But July was perfect, I had my emotional balance back, and I was happy that my brother from another mother led me to the altar. My mom was with Carlos and his mom at the altar, Carlos asked her the permission to be also the Groom Mother that day. He loves my mom, she was too happy to be by his side that day.  "
