When Ealdwine stirred from slumber, the world he awakened to was far from the cozy sanctuary of his master. Instead, he found himself in an unfamiliar room, a stark departure from the familiar confines he had known for so long. This room had a peculiar rectangular shape, with one end elevated like a hill, crafting a unique and disorienting environment that perplexed him.

His owl mind whirred with questions, wondering why anyone would design a room in such an unusual manner. As Ealdwine's perceptive eyes roamed, they descended upon a workbench adorned with tools that sparkled like diamonds and rubies. It was a sight that defied comprehension—what kind of craftsman employed such extraordinary materials in their work?

Yet, the room held more mysteries still. A figure toiled away at the workbench, their presence casting an enigmatic aura over the surroundings. The person possessed a bald spot atop their head, and their hair cascaded in a circular fringe around it. Their ears, however, stood out with striking peculiarity, elongated far beyond the proportions of any human Ealdwine had ever encountered. The sight sent a chill racing down the guardian's mechanical spine.
