Alex did her best to not fall off the car every time it hit a bump. The ride was for 15 minutes, but it felt like an hour.
Alex was grateful when the car finally came to a halt. She got off the back and crouched down to hide.
The men got out of the car and dragged Roselita with them; they led her into a helicopter, and Alex skillfully followed them. She hid herself and waited.
They were in the air for hours, and Alex started feeling nauseous. She had never been in the air before, but she kept her composure and kept her eyes on Roselita. It was morning by the time the helicopter landed, and they got into another car and began to drive. Alex finally got to look around, and she knew she wasn't in Lakewood anymore.
"Where is this place?" She said to herself, Soon enough, the car came to a stop again. Alex climbed off the back and crouched down again.
The men all got out and took Roselita with them."Home, sweet home, right?" They teased her. Alex looked at what was before her and gasped. It was the palace, and it looked like one from a fairytale. This was where Roselita lived.
"I get it now," Alex said to herself.
They led Roselita into the palace."Let me go! Where is my mother? Let go of me!" She screamed
"Oh, shut up," Augusto said, slapping her."I'm sick of you; lock her in the dungeon. Don't worry, darling, by evening you will be hung in front of all your subjects, and they will know who the real ruler of Syana is," he said with a sinister smile, and Alex knew she had to act quickly.
"Hey ugly!" She yelled, and everyone turned to look at her. Roselita's eyes brightened when they landed on her.
"Who are you?" Augusto asked
Alex scoffed and smirked. "I'm Roselita's cousin, you dumbass.""Seize her," Augosto ordered, and a bunch of guards charged at Alex. She dodged their attacks and used the closest things she could find to beat them up. She ran to the guards that were holding Roselita and looked down.
"Your shoelace is untied," she lied, and they looked down. She used that opportunity to pull Roselita out of their grip.
"What's the best place to hide in this place?" Alex asked Roselita as they were running."My room, uhm, go up the stairs," Roselita said, leading Alex to her room. When they got there, she locked the door behind them, and the guards banged on the door.
"Open the door!" There's no place for you to hide," Augosto's voice said from behind the door.
"We have to think of something fast; they can break down the door any moment now," Roselita said, pacing back and forth. Alex was too focused on how beautiful Roselita's room was to even hear her.
"Pretty," Alex cooed. Roselita's room was bigger than all the rooms in her house put together; it was neatly arranged, and the decorations were fit for a princess.
"Whoa, you have a swing in here?" Alex said that and got on the swing she found.
"Can I just live here?" Alex said this and swung back and forth."I would love that, but Alex, I think we have more pressing matters on our hands," Roselita reminded her.
"I'm giving you three seconds to open this door!" Augusto yelled again, and that snapped Alex back to her senses."You don't have a secret passage way here or something?"
"No, the only escape is through the window."
Alex opened the window and looked down; it was too far from the ground."If we jump down, we will die; only someone with wings can escape through this window," Alex said, and Roselita got an idea.
She began to whistle loudly.
"What are you doing?"
"Just give me a moment," Roselita said."3!" Augusto counted
"2!"
"Whatever you're doing, make it quick," Alex warned.
"1!!"
"They're here." Roselita smiled."Who?"
"We're breaking down this door!" Augusto said, and the guards pushed down the door.
"Oh no!" Alex panicked
"Do you trust me?" Roselita asked and held Alex's hand.
"No, not really," Alex admitted in panic."Seize them!" Augusto ordered, and the guards charged at them, and at that exact moment, Roselita jumped out of the window and dragged Alex with her.
"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!" alex screamed
It felt like they were falling forever, but then they landed on something soft and fluffy."We're alive?" Alex questioned and looked down. In disbelief, they were on a bed of birds. Birds bed? Bed made of birds...? Anyways, you get the point.
"What in Cinderella is this?" Alex gasped, the birds were flying them somewhere.
"These are my friends, Chirpy, Seedy, and Flappy. I feed them every morning, so I called them, and they brought their friends," Roselita explained, and Alex didn't question her any further; this was her world, she was the only one who understood how it worked.
The birds took them far away from the castle and gently dropped them."Thanks guys, I owe you one," Roselita said, and the birds chirped in response and then flew away.
"This is the second time I flew today, I think I'm going to be sick," Alex said, holding her stomach. Roselita smiled and hugged her.
"Thank you for saving me." She smiled
"You're not safe yet, that guy found you in Lakewood, do you really think he won't find us here?" Alex said and stroked her chin to think of a plan.
"Your right, and my mother is still back there; I can't leave her," Roselita said.
"If he wanted to hurt your mother, I think he would've done that sooner. He needs her for something; I'm just not sure what."
"What are we going to do?"
"I'm pretty sure my dad's already thought of a master plan and is on his way," Alex assured. "Let's just stay low."
The two girls aimlessly wandered through the streets of Syana, and Alex was impressed that everywhere seemed so peaceful and well kept around there.
"I'm pretty sure your crime rate is zero around here," Alex said.
"Yes, my mother and father did an excellent job," Roselita said, and then her face fell. "I'm not sure if I would do the same," she admitted.
"C'mon, you would be an excellent queen. I mean, you're so princessy," Alex said, trying to comfort her.
"Of course I would; it's just that I don't want to be queen just yet.""Why not?"
"Well, up until I met you, I thought my life just revolved around the Palace walls, but I've seen that there's more to life, like movies and soccer and friendship and rivalry and... love," she said, and Alex gaped.
"Why don't you tell your mom then?""I don't want her to be disappointed."
I don't think she The sound of wedding bells interrupted Alex.
"Wedding bells? and it's coming from the palace," Roselita said, and then all the colour drained from her face.
"That's why he didn't hurt my mom.""Huh?"
"General Augusto, he wants to marry my mother!"
