"Ms. President, I have some things here from work." Janet looked at Becky.
"If there is nothing else, I will leave to go home." Becky said.
"You are going to leave wearing that?" Freen's eyes flashed with disappointment.
She really did not want anyone else to see Becky looking so beautiful and vivacious.
"Ahm..how long does it take for my clothes to dry?" Becky asked.
"It's still early." Freen said calmly. "Let Nanny Pohn take you to the lounge while you are waiting. We can have lunch together at noon."
Janet's face became even more ugly.
"This isn't inconvenient, is it?" Becky frowned.
"Nanny Pohn's expertise is very good." Freen said. "Or do you want to take out?"
She didn't mean it at all.
"Or can Miss Armstrong help me with a favor first?" Janet suddenly said.
"Ha? what favor?" Becky looked at her blankly.
"In addition to bringing information to Ms. President today, I also heard that she was ill and I want to make her a bowl of ginger soup." Janet's eyes flashed. She looked over at Freen. "What if you help me to make the soup and then brought it to Ms. President?"
Freen frowned unhappily. Janet clearly wanted Becky to misunderstood their relationship.
"Ah?" Becky said awkwardly. "But I don't know how to cook."
"Miss Armstrong, you didn't know how to cook?" Janet's voice was a bit more scornful. She giggled twice. "As a woman, how can you not know how to cook? You can't get married without knowing how to cook."
Becky uncomfortably lifted her eyebrows. Janet said in a joking tone, but the words clearly contained provocation.
"Does one have to know how to cook if she wants to get married?" Becky said. "Does a man really want to get married or does they actually want to find a babysitter?"
Freen smiled.
Becky did not know how to cook, which made her a little unhappy but it just meant she would not be able eat a meal she made on her own. it didn't matter to her though.
Janet's face was slightly stiff and she suddenly stopped sneered. "I guess Ms. Armstrong, you are only child? Your parents must really love you. They spoiled you and didn't even bother to teach you basic life skills."
Becky was extremely angry. People can criticize her but she would absolutely not allowed them to criticize her parents!
"You guessed wrong, I'm not an only child and I have a brother." Becky said. "My parents said, they were raising a daughter and not a domestic maid for others. With take outs, it doesn't matter if I learned to cook or not. If not being able to cook is the reason why I can't get married in the future, well then I won't get married. My parents and brother are willing to help me for my entire life if I need a help. You will not have to make me a meal. So, Miss Secretary you have nothing to worry about."
Janet's face become pale.
"Becky." Freen suddenly said.
"What ? I will not expect you to make me a meal either!" Becky said with self-reliance.
She did not look at Freen with beautiful, calm expression so is she going to lecture her now?
"I just want to say that you are always welcome to eat here." Freen said.
Heng laughed and almost spit the tea he was drinking out of his mouth.
Janet felt even more resentful towards Becky. The meaning of what Freen had said did not need to be explained!
"I'll go and find nanny Pohn." Becky swiftly stood up and ran upstairs.
Seeing that Becky had run upstairs, Freen appeared to have regained her composure. "Janet, I hope that you know there is no other relationship between us. We have working relationship, don't do anything extra."
"Yes Ms. President." Janet said while nodding her head to show she understood but her heart was full of reluctance.
How can she not have feelings for someone like Freen? She saw how Freen treat anyone after working for her for so many years.
Becky who randomly appeared certainly made her feel nervous.
...
Becky found Nanny Pohn and she took her to a guest room. She was feeling restless so she picked up a book and sat on the sofa to read.
After a while, she heard a slight sound of footstep behind her.
"What are you reading?" Freen leaned over and asked. Her warm breath was on her ear.
Becky trembled and moved over. "Don't get too close to me."
"What's wrong?" Freen asked.
"You are sick, what if you infect with me." Becky said shyly.
Freen nodded and sat down. "Next time, let's have Nanny Pohn take you to the study to read. There is no table here, it is inconvenient for you."
"Next time?" Becky asked stunned.
"You don't like it?" Freen raised her eyebrows. "Then, I asked Nanny Pohn to place a table here."
Becky was speechless. Freen always misunderstood her.
Why is it always so difficult to communicate with Freen? It is obvious that she did not mean things the way she thought she did. It's like that Freen deliberately tease her.
"Why did you come to find me?" Becky had no choice but to change the topic.
"I came here to bring you your clothes." Freen laid her dry clothes beside her. "By the way, let's go down and get something to eat."
"Ok." Becky nodded. Then she looked at Freen awkwardly.
"Why aren't you changing?" She asked.
"You need to get out first." Becky smiled. Freen had been standing there. How could she change?
"Okay." She lifted her lips.
Becky changed her clothes and saw Freen waiting outside the door
"Are you okay now?" she asked.
"I feel a lot better now." Freen said. "Just feel a little dizzy and weak."
"That's the effect of the medicine. Don't do too much after eating and get good sleep. When you wake up, you will be fine."
"Well, I will listen to you." Freen said, smiling
