You woke to find yourself in a large bed. Rey, Ragnar, and Ibis were all there. You smiled as Ibis threw his arms around you. "Oh y/n, you promised not to scare me like that again..." he whispered, covering your face in little kisses.

"I'm sorry," you said, kissing him in return. "I didn't mean to."

He continued to hug you. "Please stop scaring me like that, I don't know how much more I can take."

"I know, I know, I'm sorry sweetie..." you mumbled as you slowly took in his sent, which caused you to smile.

Ibis pulled away just enough so that he could see you. "Gosh, you're beautiful..." he whispered.

"And your handsome," you murmured.

Ibis turned a bright shade of pink. You couldn't help but smile as the tips of his ears began to redden.

"Your blushing..." you teased, gently taping his nose.

"N-no I'm not," he said as he looked away.

"Yes you are..." you looked at Ragnar. "Isn't he blushing?"

Ragnar immediately picked up on your little game. "Son, you're the same color as the jelly in those tarts you love so much."

Ibis covered his red face. "Stop! No, I'm not!!!"

Ragnar turned his attention to you. "Thank you for saving my life."

You smiled. "That's what a family is for."

Ragnar stood and walked over to you and Ibis. Planting a gentle kiss on both of your foreheads. "I love you both...and I am so proud of you."

You could feel tears prick your eyes. You had a father figure who both loved you and took pride in you.

Suddenly there was a knock on the door. Callum, Rayla, and your parents walked in. Ibis was on his feet with his staff in hand.

"Why does your face look the same color as the strawberries I had earlier?" Callum asked.

Ibis rolled his eyes.

Ragnar stared at your father with death in his eyes. "One wrong move and your head  is gone." He said, discretely making it clear to you that he would protect you no matter the cost.

"Alright we're all friends here," Callum said nervously.

"We are not friends." Your father and Ragnar said at the same time.

You sighed, this was going to be a long week.

Ibis slowly sat down on the edge of your bed, but he refused to put his staff down. You couldn't help but smile, it felt good to know how eager he and Ragnar were to protect you.

Your mother slowly walked towards you. "Y/n," she whispered.

You could feel Ibis' body tense up as the grip on his staff increased, causing his knuckles to turn white. "I'd think very carefully about your next move if I were you..."

You placed your hand on his thigh.  "Ibis please relax, it's alright." -You had yet to let them know they were your parents.- "You don't need to protect me from everything."

He stared at your hand as his face began to burn red once more. "You were stabbed twice in one week! Of course, I'm going to worry!" His concern for your well-being was quite evident.

"What?!" Both of your parents shouted, clearly concerned for you.

"Like You care," Ragnar scoffed.

"Of course we care!" Your father shouted. "Why wouldn't we care?!?"
