Cherie excitedly answered Jeremiah's call as she sat on the couch. She hadn't talked to him all day, due to him being at work.

"Hello." Cherie sung into the phone.

"Wassup, what you doing?" Jeremiah questioned.

"Nothing much, you went to work with your hair looking like that?" Cherie questioned him. His hair was in an Afro. Jeremiah sucked his teeth before answering.

"No, but I don't have anyone to do my hair and my hair was looking bad so I took it down when I got home." It had a little over a month since Cherie had done his hair when she was staying with him in LA. The only reason his braids had even stayed up that long was because he took good care of his hair.

"Have you looked for a hairstylist?" Cherie questioned, he'd already found a barber, he just needed a braider.

"No, I don't want no problems." Jeremiah chuckled.

"Good boy." Cherie smirked. "But you can get somebody's big back auntie." Jeremiah burst out laughing on the other end of the phone.

"Somebody's what?" Jeremiah laughed.

"Big back auntie. Why you laughing? I'm serious."

"I know, it s just how you said it." Jeremiah calmed down before speaking again. "I'll try to find somebody."

"And make sure they have a big back. I'm talking about Rasputia big."

"Chill." Jeremiah laughed, getting serious. "I need to tell you something."

"What is it?" Cherie questioned.

"You know how you're supposed to come to LA this weekend right?" Today was Monday and Cherie was supposed to be flying out to LA Friday.

"Mhm."

"Well I uh, my job asked me to go to a convention in New York this weekend. And I told them yes."

"So you just canceled our plans."

"I didn't want to say no, I just got the job."

"I understand that, but you could've at least said I would love the opportunity, but my girlfriend is coming into town this weekend. The decision you made was selfish."

"I'm sorry Cherie, maybe we can get your ticket changed to next weekend."

"Why, because you'll be available then?" Cherie frowned. "I'm good, fuck you and that ticket." Cherie hung up the phone, fuming. She already had her stuff packed and ready to go.

Angry and sad tears began to pour from her eyes. She wiped at them angrily. She had been so excited to see him, they hadn't seen each other in a whole month, now that date would have to get pushed back even further because of his stupid decisions. Cherie dialed her sister's number hoping she would answer. She knew she was at work, but she was hoping it was her planning period or the kids were maybe at recess or lunch. Luckily, Cameron answered the phone on the third ring.

"Hello." Cameron answered.

"Hey Cam." Cherie sniffled.

"What's wrong?"

"Are you busy?"

"Nah, I'm on lunch right now. Tell me what's wrong."

"You know how I was supposed to go see Jeremiah this weekend right?"

"Mhm."

"Well I'm not going anymore. He's attending some stupid convention in New York. Then he had to nerve to say we could see if we could change my plane ticket to next weekend. I don't move on his time!" Cherie shouted angrily.
