The early morning sun painted streaks of gold across the bedroom, but the serenity of the dawn was a stark contrast to the storm brewing inside Sam Kerr. She awoke with a seething anger that seemed to have no origin, a tempest that threatened to engulf her from the moment she opened her eyes.
The events of the previous day had left her restless and tormented, but she couldn't pinpoint a single cause for her anger. It was as if the world itself had conspired to provoke her, and she lay in bed, her mind a turbulent sea of frustration.
With a heavy sigh, Sam swung her legs over the edge of the bed and sat up. The memories of the match she had played a few days earlier still haunted her. A bitter loss that felt like a wound that refused to heal, coupled with missed opportunities and her own critical self-assessment, had ignited the fuse of her anger.
As she padded into the kitchen, the scent of freshly brewed coffee filled the air. It was a comforting aroma, a small indulgence that had the power to soothe her turbulent emotions. Sam poured herself a cup and took a long, contemplative sip.
But even the coffee couldn't dispel the fog of anger that had settled in her mind. She knew that she needed an outlet for her frustration, a way to confront the tempest that raged within her. So, she decided to head to the gym, hoping that a vigorous workout would help clear her mind.
With each punch, each kick, and each bead of sweat that rolled down her face, Sam Kerr unleashed her anger on the heavy bag. Her fists were a manifestation of her frustration, a channel for the emotions that had threatened to consume her since the morning.
As she pummeled the bag with relentless determination, she found a momentary release from the anger that had plagued her upon waking. It was a physical exertion that mirrored the turmoil within, a battle against both external and internal foes.
When she finally stepped away from the bag, her chest heaving and her body drenched in sweat, Sam felt a sense of exhaustion that was different from the anger. It was the weariness of confronting her own emotions, a fatigue that came from the relentless struggle to find peace within herself.
As she made her way back home, the morning sun had risen higher in the sky, casting a warm glow over the world. The anger that had awakened with her had not dissipated entirely, but it had lost some of its edge. Sam Kerr knew that her journey to manage her emotions was ongoing, but with each day, she grew more determined to find a balance between the tempest within and the calm she sought.
As she woke up the next morning completely sore from the previous days workout, letting out a loud sigh as Sam hears her cat Helen meowing making her rub the cat softly on top of the head, as Sam finally gets up out of bed and stepping into the shower and stripping out of her shorts and Chelsea t-shirt " just get over it your the best player in the world you just have to learn to be more in control" the voice in Sam's head says to her making her hit the wall softly as she finishes washing herself off and getting out of the shower drying off and brushing her teeth, as she finishes brushing she quickly puts on a hoodie and shorts heading downstairs, and hearing a knock on her front door making her frown wondering who could be knocking on her front door at this time looking through the hole mentally kicking herself seeing it's sarah as she opens the door " good morning sammmy" sarah says jumping In her best friends arms. Finally getting down from Sam's arms Sarah finally opens her back pack she brought over showing Sam all the stuff she got for Helen and her dog Charlie.
As Sam finally offers sarah a soft smile " so how do you like it is I-it cool" Sarah says smile beaming as Sam nods her head not wanting to upset her friend knowing many people didn't know that sarah suffered from a speech disorder some of her words would not come out right, " yeah it's great sarah it's really um cute" Sam says, as sarah turns her head " are you mad or something" Sarah says offering Sam a sad smile making Sam clench her teeth remembering the loss from a couple of days ago " no Sarah I'm fine but I have to get going to training, maybe we can hangout after I get back" Sam says as sarah giddily nods her head and gives Sam a hug watching her Leave for training " if only you knew" Sarah whispered to herself.
