THE BEACH was cora's comfort place, she always wanted to be there, since it reminded her of august, her favorite taylor swift song. going there, sun or rain, just made her feel immensely better.
as a tradition every summer break, her friend group spent 2 weeks in california for an annual vacation. those two weeks were the best two weeks of cora's year, no matter what happened. however, that didn't stop her from going to the beach during the school year. that's what she was getting ready for.
"which swimsuit should i bring?" cora asked daphne.
"all of yours are cute, but please tell us about how theo asked you out," pansy whined from the bathroom.
"okay, so at the fair right," cora started, "we were on the ferris wheel-"
"im so excited!" ginny squealed, resulting in hermione, pansy, and daphne shushing her.
"and then he put his arm around me, and we literally started cuddling on the ferris wheel!"
"shut up cora, no way, that's adorable," hermione said, a slight blush on her face.
"it really is!" daphne agreed.
"okay! then, he caressed-ugh hate that word, my face and then i was like, hey intrusive thoughts! i'll just kiss him!" cora laughed.
"ARE YOU SERIOUS?" pansy demanded, "that is the cutest shit i've ever heard,"
the four other girls all pointed at the 'no swearing' sign on cora's wall, inspired by luke's no cell phones sign from gilmore girls.
"seriously though, that's adorable!" hermione agreed, casting a sideways glance at daphne.
"anything else happen?" ginny asked.
"he won me this polar bear!" cora exclaimed, holding up a stuffed polar bear with a pink bowtie.
"ugh it's giving the summer i turned pretty and im here for it!" daphne gasped.
"that's why i named her junior mint!" cora agreed.
"guys we have to leave in 5 minutes, let's go change," hermione said, causing all five girls to rush into either the closet, the shower, the bathroom, or to stay inside the main bedroom.
