Chapter 2: Meeting Our Rivals

"Are you ready guys?!"

"Yeah!"

"Put ya guns on!"

"Yeah!"

There he goes again being cocky as usual, it's been three years since we met. Although I am having doubts about his decision of letting me in his army, no matter what I will serve and be loyal to him. And he goes off fighting alone again Masamune should at least be cautious.

My horse manages to catch up to him and I jump off my horse getting my katana ready. An enemy was charging at Masamune from the right like I'd let them have a chance to reach him. I thrust my katana into his chest and quickly pull out. The enemy soldiers manage to surround me as I took a step back I felt another body lean on my back.

"You too, Kitsune?"

"I wanted a fair fight with these guys"

"I bet I can beat this whole side before you"

"Hey now that doesn't seem fair, you're on"

"You're gonna lose"

"We'll see"

We both carelessly charge at the large group of soldiers, even though I'm hearing the cries of these soldiers I can hear Masamune over them. As soon as the fight was over Masamune and I cut down an enemy at the same time.

"A tie?"

"Guess so"

As I said, I heard a slight movement behind Masamune, an archer. As soon as he shot the arrow I caught it before it could hit Masamune. Then Masamune made no hesitation to cut the archer down.

"Never mind you win, Date-sama"

"Ah, I guess I do.."

He looked at me disappointed and I was confused until I realized why he was disappointed.

"I told you its fine to call me Masamune"

"It's not fine, I'm not on the same level as you or your retainers to be calling you by your first name"

He grabbed my shoulders and put his face close to mine so we could talk, Masamune many people would misinterpret what you're doing right now.

"What do ya mean you're not on the same level as me?"

"I'm just a female retainer in your army, that's already a low rank"

"There's a reason why I made you my fox, we are on the same level because I'm trusting you to have my back along with Kojurou"

"No matter what you say I'm still calling you Date-sama"

"Don't worry I'm going to make you say Masamune-sama"

I'm not going to ask him what he meant by that I'm now only worried about what he might do. We got back on our horses and now it was time to attack the Uesugi, it's not going to be easy but the Date army will surely win.

"Masamune-sama"

"What is it, Kojurou?"

"I advise that we halt the army and send a scout ahead to Mt. Saijo"

"Huh?"

"I have a bad feeling, it's as if they're waiting for us"

"Isn't that good? Can't blame them if they're on guard"

"But then it won't be a surprise attack"

"No problem! Let's go, Kojurou!"

"Y'know Kojurou you should've expected this, you can't change his mind no matter what, we'll here I go Hya!"

"Did my sister say something bad again?"

"Not at all Relina-san"

"She still shouldn't confuse the strategist of this army"

"I don't know if you're worried about her or me Relina-san"

"I don't know maybe it's both, well shouldn't you go to Masamune's side?"

"Yeah, I should, hya!"

"It looks like they've already left to battle with old Takeda"

"Should we still follow them?"

In the distance, you could hear noises of men grunting, out came a man and woman clad in red. They both stop and face us one of them easily identified Masamune. While the woman identified me as well, the man introduced himself as Sanada Genjiro Yukimura.

He began talking to Masamune, the two began fighting and Masamune was about to finish him off until Yukimura blocked his attack. It looks like Masamune is going to have fun with him.

"Akuma Kitsune I am Akahana Akatsuki"

I look to the woman she pulled out her weapon and challenged me to a duel. I get off my horse and face her.

"It is proper that we woman should fight alongside our lords!"

"Yeah it is but how do I know that you're worth my time?"

"Worth my time? How rude!"

"Well being called a demon isn't just an insult, do you get it now?"

Akahana begins to charge at me until I pivot to the right and swing my katana, she uses her two sais to catch my blade. A yellow-reddish glow is all I can see from her. And I can see my own glow a black red glow, how I hate this color but I shouldn't be distracted by thoughts right now.

In the corner of my eye, I see Masamune about to yell at me until he notices who I'm fighting. Thinking I was interfering your battle who do you think I am Masamune. I glare back at Akahana she too looks over to the fight of our lords. We push each other back acknowledging each other maybe she is worth my time.

We clash once more making rubble rise and full against our force, we both glance once again to see our lords. Yukimura made Masamune pull out his claws its almost as if fate wanted them to fight.

"I can see how you have feelings for Masamune-dono, just as I have feelings for Yukimura-sama. Akuma Kitsune we shall be love rivals!"

"Huh? I'm not in love with Masamune!"

"Go ahead and deny it but you have feelings for him my love rival!"

I began to get furious with her, my glow began to get darker. This time I charge at her, I'm pissed off. Why am I pissed off? I heard Relina call my name she's telling me to stop but I ignore her. I was about to cut her down until Masamune appeared in front of me.

"Ma- Date-sama!"

"Almost made you say it"

I blush to look to the side, sheathing my sword. Akahana glanced at me while smirking. Masamune notices my glare and grabbed my arm bringing me to our side.

"Akuma Kitsune we'll meet again love rival!"

Please tell me that Masamune did not hear that, he let go of my arm and I climb back on my horse. I'm not in love with Masamune I'm just a loyal retainer that's all.

"Sanada Yukimura I'll remember you"

"Date-sama, are you fine?"

"I'm fine, I was close to making you say my name"

"Oh shut up"

My heart for some reason is beating fast, is it because I fought with Akahana or is it because of Masamune. It must be Akahana she did make me use all my strength...I think back to what she said: "Go ahead and deny it you have feelings for him"...But if I do have feelings for him then what does he feel towards them?
