"Anna! What the hell!??" Carly fell to the ground hard from the impact. Anna's eyes were lost in a world of her own. "Failure is unacceptable..." she reiterated, before she took five more shots perfectly camouflaged with the fireworks from the carnival.

"Anna!"

The first shot tore through Carly's right shoulder. Carly disappeared behind the bed to prevent the five consequent shots, but another bullet sliced her stomach- a graze.

"Anna, STOP!" Carly clinched her shoulder while she weighed her options, confused.

CLICK!

Anna's clip emptied, of course, the guard had fired shots off it already. Opportunity. Carly quickly picked herself from the ground, but Anna was reloading, she had actually picked up an extra mag at the hospital!

Bang! Bang! Bang!

She quickly took three more shots, missed. Carly made a dash into the bathroom and slammed the door behind her. Five more bullets drilled through the door, zipping past Carly's head only barely.

"Anna!!??"

She screamed but Anna never took heed to her cries, she kept firing. "Failure is unacceptable." She mumbled. She was too far gone.

Carly ducked into the bathtub for cover before she was littered with glass and ceramics from the bouncing bullets. Finally, silence, but only for a moment. Anna broke through the door, still swinging the gun, a third clip!

She quickly scanned the bathroom from left right, nothing. Nothing but a flood of broken glass and water.

"Ahhh!"

Carly dropped from the top, lunging onto Anna's arm in a flash, but her shoulder betrayed her. Anna flipped Carly onto her face as they rolled on the ground. Carly saw the barrel flash before her eyes as Anna's finger squeezed on the trigger. Everything slowed down for an instant, as Carly swept the ground with her legs in desperation.

Bang!

A cracking gun shot went off near Carly's ear as the bullet cracked off the marble floor. Carly quickly rolled and slammed her knee into Anna's face, ignoring the sore ringing in her ear. The gun slid on the ground from Anna's hand- luckily- but Anna quickly cracked half a sink on Carly. Aiming for her face, but Carly sacrificed her back.

Anna dashed for the gun once she was free of Carly's grip, while a disoriented Carly zipped for the exit. Another bullet lodged into Carly's left thigh, crashing her into the bedside table. The tranquilizer gun dropped. Carly desperately crawled towards it, towards salvation, but it was too late. Anna had the gun pointed at her already. Staring at her with a deathly intensity.

"Anna, stop! It's me. It's Carly." Carly felt a few drops fall from her eyes. The thought of dying at her own best friend's hand was difficult to process. She could feel her life slipping away in the moment. Anna's sullen figure showed no signs of forgiveness.

"Failure...is...is...unacceptable." Anna faltered for the first time.

"Hannah?"

A man stepped into the room just in time. "I heard some noise a..."

Anna fired two rapid shots that hit the man in the heart and one in between his eyes, very precise, Anna might have been faltering from the very first moment she had pointed the gun at Carly in the first place. The man dropped dead in a second. Carly used the distraction to fire a dart into Anna's thigh. Anna dropped- finally.

"What are you doing Ray?" A rather anxious black British woman sounded off in the distance, "Just dispose of her already."

Anna opened her eyes to a blurry site in a very foreign scene. The woman sat back on a desk, brooding at her companion, Luke Harper...Ray? A distinctly wet scent lingered in the air, in a seemingly abandoned warehouse turned base of operations.

"You want us to remain dark right? This is the best way to move forward, trust me." Ray replied.

"She's too dangerous," the woman insisted.

"And how dangerous do you think her partner is, now that she knows about all this?" Ray replied while he poured himself a glass of the same bottle scotch he had at Deon Corp.

"Not as dangerous as she would with her partner, in any case scenario I can think of. Take her out, now." Her anxiety was slowly turning into rage.

"But this is so much easier, we activate her one more time, she takes her partner out when she drops her guard, et voilà." Ray became more cocky the more she fumed.

"Ground-hog, report." The monitor came to life behind the woman, a dark skinned man with a bald head inquired. "Ground-hog reporting sir," the woman answered.

"Are the targets down?"

"No sir, agent 56 is missing, sir. But we have captured agent 107." She replied.

"Captured? The order was to terminate."

The woman stepped back from the monitor to let Ray pull himself from the fire if he could.

"I plan to reactivate agent 107 to take out her partner, sir." Ray put on a determined face, but everything seemed to be lined against him. "No, take her out now. She's the higher ranked agent, she is more dangerous. I don't want someone as dangerous as her roaming free, we don't know the type of damage she can do if she completely went rogue," Anna only barely caught a glimpse of the man in charge rifling through stacks of paper. She was still feeling the effects of the earlier blast from the bazooka.

"Not in this case sir, agent 56 is the bigger threat this time. She is the one who designed Haven; agent 107 may be more deadly, but agent 53 may threaten the whole Slumber program if she decides to investigate, sir. She's the only one person in this world, who can bypass all the cyber security in our system and also have a chance against the security protocols on the ground. Her combat ability is also quite high." Ray replied.

"Is this true?" The man asked the woman.

"Well... in a manner of speaking... there is a possibility. But th-"

"Then why is she ranked fifty sixth?" The man suddenly got invigorated.

"Agents 55 through to 60 are an expansion of the program. They have both combat and technical ability sir, most of them are only in Tier 1 because of their extremely advanced technical skills." Ray replied.

It took the man on the monitor a few seconds to make his decision, "Okay, do whatever you have to do. Just make sure this crap doesn't come back to haunt us, I will throw you under the bus, when Oversight comes looking for someone to blame. That's a promise Agent Banner. Dismissed." The monitor turned black with a crushing tension left hanging.

"You do understand what that means right?" Ray only glanced at his companion, she almost gloated in the moment. He turned his attention to Anna- to complete his task- before she quickly lost consciousness again.

The reason why she was in the hospital... The reason why failure was unacceptable. She had been activated for one last mission. To kill her best friend; her only friend; her sister. To kill Carly.
