"Auuuuughhhhh" You groaned, just having gotten out of hosting an episode for your show. You had a severe headache on your mind right now. The contestants were very unruly and sort of...stupid in a way? Well, of course they were, objects were just...so dumb at times. Even as a joke show host that didn't have to put so much thought into the competition to get them going. You still managed to out mass their intelligence big time in a game of hide and seek. Only to be begged for a rematch after a rematch after another, over and over again you won each one. But they just couldn't ever seem to take a loss. Honestly you would've given up on them already if it wasn't for you being so merciful to them. What a bunch of idiots. You thought cruelly, walking up the grassy hill that flourished of lively green grass and hydrated trees. The baby-blue sky glowing dimly as the sun lit it like a candle. It had been 4 pm in the evening since you'd ended the episode for your show, and you wanted to rest big time. So you sat under a nice tree, kicking a few rocks away from your new seating grounds, softly placing the blanket flatly on the ground, making sure it stayed and wouldn't be drifted off by any weak breeze. Of course you'd bring your own covering to your awesome resting grounds, who'd like weird bugs crawling all over you while you tried to regain energy? Nevertheless, you sat down finally, humming to yourself as you enjoyed the gentle breeze that swayed the leaves of shrubs near you.
"You off of that show yet?" A grumpy voice stated from behind you, although you didn't react to much about it since you already knew who it was. "It's nice to see you as well Four." You ignored his question, looking over your shoulder at the blue Algebralien that stood there. Four grumbled to himself, walking over to the side of you when you put your gaze back on the environment and not him. "May I sit here?" He slowly spoke, they seemed to be agitated however it wasn't directed towards you seeing as he tried to conceal his; rather unknown annoyance, towards something. You took a second, but you replied with a gentle nod in return, patting the place right beside you on the blanket. "Be my guest, there's space for everyone." You answered, not like I'm gonna give it to everyone on freewill though. Four immediately plopped down right next to you when you gave him the green light. And the room went quiet, a little bit of awkwardness in the air, but that's alright.
Four, the host for B.F.B., you and him had been pretty chill friends, having met randomly when one of your contestants had accidentally collided into his show one time due to both of your guy's shows being right next to each other in terms of territory. This had caused a little bit of a rivalry to spark between you two back then, it was just so ironic that you had your hands on a few tasty snacks to offer to him. Which at the very least, stopped him from shrieking at you and making you and your contestants eardrums bleed out to death. It was a rather close call, but overall you still bet to this day that you could've absolutely destroyed him in a fight, even if that really wasn't gonna be the outcome and it was just your ego speaking for you. But who cares, pride is cool, and you wouldn't be considered depressed for it. But anyways, you and him kinda started out with a whole peace treaty where you'd take in some of the eliminated contestants and implement them into your silly show, and in return he wouldn't completely throw you off the planet. As time progressed, it more as created mutual respect for both of you two. You enjoyed watching his show whenever you got off early, and he allowed you to be there, like a VIP guest. It was pretty cute to watch honestly, how they'd randomly turn around and you'd be sitting there in the distance just watching the teams fail to complete the challenge. Before quickly turning around whenever you'd notice him.
"What's got you so worked up big guy?" You taunted playfully, looking at him as he sat there quietly. They huffed in exasperation, "You don't need to know." You rolled your eyes at him, well he's definitely not in a good mood. "Okay okay, let me try again, how was your day?" You crossed your legs as you sat up a bit more to listen to his answer. "It was okay," Alright, you got an answer, a short one, but it was something and you could manage to be content with it. "Well good to know," You spoke, that darn headache sort of returning, you rubbed your forehead, not enjoying how your brain felt like exploding; just like earlier. Four seemed to tilt his head in your direction, "What about you?" he asked quietly. "Could've been better, these damn contestants of mine are so unruly." You chuckled, sulking a bit. Somehow, you complaining about contestants had managed to turn a switch on in Four's unpredictable personality, "You should throw them in a cage, as a way to revoke their freedom of being so annoying!" You raised an eyebrow at him, before sighing, well, he was in a somewhat better mood now, that sort of helped. "I would, but the thing is, I don't have one in the first place."
"Then I'll make you one myself! Or you can make them all do it for you."
Oh, now he's offering to do work for me? Odd. Your thoughts seemed to question his own words, was he feeling alright? Probably hit his head on a wall or whatever, oh hell, just go with it. "I mean, I'll probably just do the second option. You're busy enough as it is, with your show." Four grumbled lowly under his breath, and you were unable to catch what he said. But he interrupted before you could ask, "I have a co-host for a reason o/n" he hissed, in which you only chuckled. "Of course, how could I forget about X? My condolences." You whispered sarcastically, earning a groan from the Algebralien, "Shut up"
You hummed in content, laying back with your hands under your head, looking up at the perishing glow of the blue sky that was now a darker hue than it was before. Thinking back on Four's offering, he did promise in the past that as long as you didn't mess up his show he wouldn't lay a hand on yours. So why should it differentiate now? Plus, you and seem seemed to be pretty chill with one another nowadays. "Why do you let me hang around?" You spoke up, breaking the awkward silence that had overcome you two once again, but the only thing you got in return was a quiet "hm?" from the host. Jeez this guy, making me repeat it twice. "I asked you, why you let me hang around your show. I've seen your glances." Four stayed silent, huffing as they finally seemed to collect words. "I guess I just like having you around." He stated, his usual alien-like voice going soft for a moment. Before he realized and snapped out of it again, becoming vicious once more, quickly adding onto that before you could respond, "Not like I care about you! You're still a nuisance to me!"
You gave him a, 'oh really then?" look, a silly smirk plastered onto your face slowly. You then rolled your eyes and chuckled. "I like having you around as well, Four." You turned your head back to face the horizon, and from the corner of your eyes you could've sworn you saw a subtle grin coming from the usual cantankerous, obstinate host.
What a swooner. You thought.
